Hi  Does Orlando Florida Have a Meijers Store. We just Love  going there. If not, we are driving down so where is the closest one. We are heading down I-75. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I just looked in the phone book and don't see anything in the business pages with that name. Just wondering, what kind of store is it?

Meijers grocery stores are a sort of superstore. Like a supertarget.

I thinkthey are mainly in Mi and Ohio.

herc.

Meijer stores are located in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, I believe. You should be able to stop at one along I-75... :)

If I showed your post to my family they'd be laughing right now. We always joked with eachother about 1/2 of the family that said Meijers with the S. It drives my brother nuts!

;)

Anyway, we just moved to Florida from Michigan and there are no Meijer stores here.
:sunny:

We have Meijer here in Ohio. I avoid them at all costs. I think they are confusing and the customer service is horrible.

Hi  again. Every summer, the weekend school is over he hit the Holliday Inn Express in Michigan to celebrate end of school, beginning of a hectic summer. Meijers is our first and last stop of our holliday. We just LOVE it. If no one knows what store it is- double a super Walmart, open 24-7.

Seems to me that the 's' add on when saying Meijer persists because of the many people who remember when Meijer was called Meijer's Thrifty Acres. Another odd nickname: my parents for years called the place Thrifty's. Can you tell I grew up in the originating city?? I have to say I really like Meijers (yes I still add the 's' but I DO NOT say Kmarts as some have been known to do)

We called it Thrifties, too. :teeth:

I grew up in Grand Rapids. I miss Meijer a little. A lot of stuff (shampoo, etc.) that I have in my closet still have Meijer price tags on them.

They might actually do rather well here in Florida because so many people come down here from up North.

:) I remember Meijer's Thrifty Acres too! No matter what time of day I seem to go into Meijer it is alway's crowded. It will always be the first superstore in my eyes. I love Meijer. They had one in East Lansing near MSU, and it was right on the main bus route, so you could get everything you ever needed right at Meijer.

I'm lucky enough to live less than a mile from a Meijer store, and I do most of my shopping there. Not just because it is close, but they are definitely lower in price for most of the things I buy regularly. They also have great sale items every week, and I save a lot by using coupons which they double.

Yup, I'm a big Meijer fan. :flower:

Not sure how far south Meijer stores go, but coming down 75, after Cincinnati, when you get into Ky, there is one off the Florence, KY exit (Turfway Road). (not sure of the exit #.) Has groceries and all, not sure how many you'll find after that point.

Go to www.meijer.com and check out the store locator section.

I love Meijer also. I do not care for the Walmarts in our areas, just do not seem as friendly or clean.

I hope you find some along the way, but my guess would be Kentucky as the farthest South they go.

I am a long time Meijer's customer.

If this a help. I live in Ohio near I-75. There is a Meijer at exit 32 (highway 122) and a nicer one at exit 22 (Tylersville). The one on Tylersville is on the edge of an upscale neighborhood. Both are very close to the highway and NW of their respective exits. They both have gas stations and are basically safe 24 hours a day. BTW there are Walmarts on the SW side of both exits too!

Have a safe trip. :wave2:

One of the first things I did when I got back from backpacking in Europe for 2 months was go to Meijer at Midnight and buying everything I wanted. Try doing that in Europe sometime, it will drive you crazy. No knock on Europe just very different here in the States.
