Day 2 Off to Epcot

I was the first to rise this morning. I was dressed, ready and had already had breakfast before anyone else in my crew was up and going. Maybe I need to travel with Commando Nikki. We finally leave and make our way to Epcot. Now for a little weather report. The sky was overcast but the humidity was about 96-98% with temperatures around 89. It made for some very unpleasant conditions. More on that later.
We made it through the gates and while the rest of the crew went to get the Guest Assistance Card I went in search of a Pal Mickey. Found the Mickey and we have really enjoyed him. We meet back outside of Guest SErvices as the character caravan came by. Unfortuantly that was about all we saw of character on that day. I suggested that we go left because that is what "we" do. But then all the things that I wanted to do were on the right of course. Which lead DH to look at the map for tomorrow. We traveled with Ellen to discover how energy is made and then DH checked out the line for Fast TRack and passed on it. We then traveled over to the World Showcase. I of course had to go back and find a Passport. I don't know whybut DH transformed into Commando Joe. Got to get the Passport stamped etc. We traveled through Miexico and rode their little ride. We became Vikkings in Norway. Anything to escape the heat. We spent a little time in Germany. checked out the toy shop while DH and DGD bought pretzels. After our snake of pretzels and water I went into the bakery and bought a gingerbread Mickey with chocolate dipped ears. If you like gingerbread and we do it was a nice compliment to the pretzels. As we are leaving Germany and heading for Italy we ran across a Cm that was giving out stickers and she gave Megan several and then asked if she liked ice cream and gave her an ice cream sandwich. That was very nice of her. We watched the American Adventure which DH took a power nap in and then off for our reservations for the ice cream social. This was a nice break in the afternoon. This was our first time at the Garden grill and I think we might go back again for a meal. The ice cream social was great and the character interaction was wonderful. Chip or was it DAle danced for us. There wasn't a rehitching ceremony while we were there and I had hoped that there would be. We were doing okay until DGD realized that the room was moving. The sunflowers and blue sky on the wall were great backgrouhds in our pictures. Now it was back out in the heat to go finish the Contries. Commando Joe --Got to get the passport stamped.
We finished up there and was heading back and we saw the Ice station cool. We have to go in there. Getting inside Megan did not like getting plopped in the face with water and ice. Then I say oh you have to try the Beverly. Another aside here. My family has known me for a long time. I don't know if it was a combination of fatique and the heat but they believed me. Foolish foolish people. They were so mad at me and swore revenge.
Megan is getting tired by then and ready to leave the park so we left. On our way "home" we drove through Celebration. This was something that I had wanted to do last year but never had the time. My Dh had driven through on one of his business trips (he gets to travel). I loved it. I thought the houses were gorgous. I could hear the theme song to Leave it to Beaver [laying in my head. DH thought it was "too perfect" more like Pleasantville. We had KFC for dinner and then all turned in for another fun filled day at MGM tomorrow or so we thought.

I love reading the DIS you learn something everyday. I didn't know about the gingerbread Mickeys. I need to go tomorrow to look for them. Thanks again,
Byrd
