The winner of the $294 million Mega Millions is a 68 year old cleaning woman. Geraldine Williams is a custodian at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell. Williams is the mother of 3 and grandmother of eight.

CONGRATULATIONS, Geraldine. Watch out for all those new best friends you are about to get.

Something tells me that those grandchildren are about to be spoiled within and inch of their lives.

And also, that it took her this long to come forward, hopefully means she took some time to get her house in order as it were, and is ready to handle the sudden 'cashflow upswing' lol

Congrats to her!!!

That's great ! It's nice to see someone who really could use a break getting one of that magnitude :teeth:

A couple years ago, the largest Powerball winner in history was sold about 20 miles from where I am sitting at this moment...to a guy that owned his own business and was already worth well over 7 figures. The guy has since made quite a name for himself by having his car broken into repeatedly (with tens of thousands being stolen each time) and by getting ripped off at a local strip club

It's just the luck of us folks here in WV....Any time a West Virginian gets on the news, it's always this kind of idiot (or the toothless, 400 pound man that never gradiated 5th grade and just lost his trailer in a fire)...No wonder people think we're all hillbillies :hyper:

Wait...Did I just get off track a little there ? ;)

The article mentioned she has spent a good deal of time with financial planners.

Anyone got her phone number? I'd like to try to borrow a mil from her. Just kidding.

Karen

Phooey! I was all ready to come on here to call her/him something rude, and it looks like a nice person won!

Wv, loved when the hypocrite got busted at the strip club! (and hypocrite is not a word I use lightly!)

He claimed he was going to give a lot to his churches, but the guy seems to be a complete loon. I'm in Pittsburgh so he's always on the news after the strip club incident and other stuff.
