Hi, I am taking my eldest, 30 and her 2 girls, 4 and 8, to Disneyland in September.
They really want to meet the princesses so we will be queuing to see tham at the pavilion.
I wondered, can we start queuing during/at the end of EMHs to try and cut down wait time, or would that time be better spent elsewhere?

The EMH hour from 9am to 10am is usually busier on the open EMH rides than the first hour anyway, so if you'd be queueing for one of the rides, you might as well be queueing for the Princess Pavilion opening time.

Thank you Elaine, We did go to DLRP back in 2008 but sooo much has changed from what I've read on here. LOL!
I got the nickname "Route March Nanny" last time as I had them up at silly o'clock and was determined to do it all (which we did, comfortably) but it sounds busier and a tad more aggressive these days so the planning is harder. :rotfl:

:rotfl: I'm sure they'll be grateful if you manage to get them to see the Princesses without having to wait for hours in the queue!

Just check what time it will be opening from in Septembre as it's not high season.

I remember looking in June and it didn't open until 12.00 the day I was there :confused3

yes, we saw the same thing - and 45 minutes before the Pavilion opened, there was a queue of at least 50 people waiting to get in.

Madness isn't it :rolleyes2
Have no idea what DLP are playing at with the PP but queueing for over 2 hours and then not knowing which Princess you'll see is a terrible way of doing things

Gosh, that does sound like a bit of a nightmare. The 8 yr old met them last time we went and 4yr old granddaughter is more into Buzz, Woody and Sully (LOL) so if it looks really bad we may give it a miss. ;)

I thought this was the worst queuing area ever really dull and not really that much to look at while you are waiting we queued towards the end of the night around 7.15 so about 3/4 of a hour you dont know who you will see till you are in the room , in fact you cant see a thing till you are in there i thought we would see two princesses but where out after only one ,the photos we took were not good lighting was awful (much nicer outside ) they really need about 6 princesses on the go at a timeto keep things moving , wasn,t impressed in fact we have been going since my DD was 4 she is now 15 and have yet to meet ariel(she would love to meet ariel even now) ,she met belle one yr and tiana another both with about a hour wait i really dont know why its so hard ,auberge is just way out of our budget)also you could maybe meet mulan ,ariel, jasmine in the studios ,this charactor thing is getting silly really needs looking at , ok sorry rant over:furious::furious::furious::rotfl2:

I have read a lot of reviews saying the same as you have just said. It's such a shame. 4 yrs ago it was so much nicer. We queued in the sunshine, could watch everyone else meeting the Princesses and got to meet 2 at a time. had some lovely pics! Like I said, I think we may give it a miss this time and concentrate on spotting Sully, Buzz or Woody (Please tell me THEY do meet and greets)

Buzz is easy to meet and really funny he is in the studios about 10.30ish in toon town, never saw sully at his door (did in 2010) dont think you can met woody (think he was maybe at the cowboy cookout thing )

::yes:: Best bet for Woody is at the CCB.

I think Sully has disappeared haven't seen him for a fair few months now :confused3

You should try asking at City Hall and at the information board in the Studios as they hopefully have an idea who is out and where everyday :goodvibes

Yes i love buzz as :rotfl2:well im also 4 (whoops forgot the 9):rotfl2:he saw my water bottle and kept gestering that i,d been drinking:rotfl2:

Brilliant pic!!:thumbsup2

Ella will be over the moon to meet him like that!!

I love how I have the princess (8 yr old) and then I have my surrogate grandson, Ella, 4. LOL!!
We get the best of both worlds.
Top of Ella's disney list is meeting Buzz and "Can I actually go inside skull rock, Nanny, ACTUALLY in it!!!!???" Bless her!! Easily pleased.

just looked on my programme and he is there from 10.30 till 1pm not sure about september is this your first trip wish my DD was little again ,we got picked for the parade in 2006 and rode the float with mickey

I went in 2008 with eldest daughter Laura and her daughter, Amber, then 4. This time it's me, Laura , Amber and her little sister Ella 4. (The men can stay at home. They are going fishing..lol)
I did Florida back in 2005 but wont get back there for a few yrs yet.

I love Disney..would live there if I could. LOL!

It is much better when the PP opens at 10 am or around the end of EMH (this sometimes happens at weekends even in low season) as it means you have more of a chance of getting in on the queue early. When we were there in June and it was opening at 12 noon or 1 pm, the queue by the end of EMH was ridiculous - 2 hours plus most days!

We only stood in the queue once and DD1 (she is 7) decided it just wasn't worth it to queue for that long when we could be doing other things :thumbsup2. We went to Auberge and met a few princesses there the next day but I know she would love to meet some of the newer princesses who are rarely at Auberge!

I really hope they review the PP at some point soon - it is just ridiculous to queue for that length of time, especially when you don't know who you will see!

In addition, I think you are correct about timing and military operations with things. We found this last trip that people queued way longer than they have in the past for things like parade spots - I couldn't believe it. And we've been in both peak and lower season before so I could compare! :headache:

I would try and see if you can possibly manage the Auberge?

We saw Ariel, Cinderella and Snow white. I glimpsed Tiana in there the day before when I went in to check my booking, she's a pretty new princess, I don't expect they have Rapunzel in there, but is she in the pavilion anyway?
