Meeting Place at LAX???

For those of you who are familiar with LAX Airport:

Where is a good meeting place for people who have never been to the airport? I'm meeting my ex-husband there (dad to DS) and we are vacationing together. I have looked at a map of the airport and I see that American Airlines is in terminal 4 and Northwest is in terminal 2. He arrives by NWA at 1:15pm and we get in from AA at 1:35pm. I would like him to maybe meet us at our gate, but I'm afraid that he will get confused! He is not very smart when it comes to traveling.

Does anyone have any advice on meeting up with your party at the airport?

I can tell you what happened to us. When DH, DD and I flew into LAX on one airline and DH bilogical family on another, we had to meet up with them outside on the curb infront of our terminal infront of baggage claim. Once you leave your gate and go to get your luggage there is seriously no going back. If I remember correctly, the different airline terminals are NOT connected, meaning if you fly in on one airline and your family flies in on another, then whoever arrives first cannot meet the other at the gate. I don't know if I have totally confused you more or not but I would suggest for your travel challenged ex that HE wait outside of his baggage claim on the curb for YOU to come and get him. There is also a huge walking distance outside to go from one terminal to another. So if you don't want anyone to get lost, then either you meet up with your ex, or just agree to meet at the hotel.
