Hello folks! My daughters are excited to meet Merida when we go to WDW next year. She's one of their favorite characters. I know she doesn't take FP+. Any hints about what times would be best? Thanks!

The family met her last year in August when we went. We just walked up when we found her and waited maybe 20 minutes or so. It was after lunch time.

I don't think any time would be better than another. When we went the line was up on the bridge and it wasn't too bad. It does get hot and the entire waiting area is not in shade so I'd go in the morning before it gets too hot. We waited 20 - 15 minutes. She's great. My daughter couldn't understand a thing she said! She is in full accent.

Merida was our longest wait over Spring Break. We probably waited about 45 minutes but she really took her time with each family. What we did was we went and bought some snacks and drinks and the kids were able to rest while they waited and had their snacks while we moved forward in line. It was probably our longest wait of the trip (well for this and the lantern photos in front of the Tangled bathrooms).

We saw her in March. We did not have FP and the wait was maybe 20 min. She was phenomenal! Probably our favorite character meet of the trip. Her hair...her accent...her costume - all fabulous. Your daughters should really enjoy the experience!

We saw her in August and the wait was 15 minutes at the most. And she took a break during that time. I would say just judge her line and decide if that works for you.

I saw her last week on a weekday morning. Zero wait. Nobody in front of me.

Just got back yesterday, and we had Merida on our plans for Monday, August 27. We arrived just prior to her arrival (I think it was 9:15?) and waited for about 10 minutes (there were 2 families ahead of us) We wanted to make sure we got to see her before it got too busy and before it got too hot! She was definitely one of our favourite meets - definitely worth a longer wait as well. My daughter highland dances, and the 2 of them did a little dance together. My 14 yr old son was taking pictures for us (he had no interest in meeting a princess LOL) so she grabbed my daughter's hand and ran up behind him, startling him while he was trying to get the camera ready. Then she dragged him up for some photos, flexing to see who was stronger. Spent at least 5-7 minutes with our family! It was quite entertaining.

We watched fireworks from the bridge and then immediately got into line as they were ending so we were the first in line when she came out and they opened the gate.

Despite the fact that there were tons of little kids (including my two younger ones at the front of the line), she grabbed older DD’s hand and skipped off with her. (Meeting Merida was the only “must do” for DD and she even planned her outfit accordingly, but obviously Merida didn’t know that.) One of the most magical experiences we have had over the years.

Anybody done a mid-morning visit? We don't arrive at MK until 10:30 at the earliest our first day and this is a priority.

We met Merida first thing in the morning, right at 9:15 when her line opened up. We lucked out really because her line can be a bit long. As for the character...…….she was AWESOME!! It was just my wife and I and she spent some time talking with us......some real time. Now the line was quite short so that probably contributed to that.

My take is go first thing in the morning :D
