Meeting Groot & Black Widow - Tips? Has it started yet?

Hi all,

I'll be at DL next week and I have a kids who are very excited to meet Groot and Black Widow. I don't see these characters listed on the Disneyland App yet.

I read that Groot comes out at the end of the dancing thing with Star Lord and Gamora. Has anyone seen him him yet? I saw a video in another post here with the dance off but didn't see Groot at the end. If he is there any tips for getting in line? It seems like it might be a mess since it's out in the open. Stick to the left/right/etc.?

Also for Black Widow is this a separate line to get an autograph and photo - it looks like it's separate from the Training Show (I know you need to sign up for that). But is Black Widow also separate from Captain America and Spiderman?

Just trying to get a clearer picture of all the new stuff. Thanks in advance!

They are both started.
I have seen Groot, but I didn't see (but didn't look for) Black Widow. It was hard to miss Groot, he's very tall, and is right in front of the building

I am not sure why, but they are not advertising Groot.

My family met Groot yesterday. We also saw how Black Widow's Encounter works, though we didn't try to meet her.

Groot comes out at the end of the dance party right before Starlord and Gammora leave. The party is right in front of the sign for the ride. We walked up about 15mins before the last scheduled dance party. People were already starting to gather there and there was already a bit of a line for Groot's meet. The line is to the left of the sign stretching back towards the store. One CM told us that our easiest bet would be for one parent to watch the party with the kids and the other get in Groot's line. It was a great tip, worked perfectly. But, since we were watching from closer to the left side anyway, I think we would have been okay if dh had wanted to watch too. As the party was ending, the CM's ushered the line forwards towards the sign area and everyone watching towards the end of the line, so we would have been amongst the first of the crowd to get in the line.

While we were waiting for the dance party, one of Black Widow's encounters started. She walks out of the big barn doors between the Hyperian and the GOTG ride with and armored car following her. There's stuff playing over the loud speakers, so this is hard to miss! She walks from there to the Hollywoodland backlot. Her meet is in the corner between the stage and the Captain America/ Spidey meet area. It's separate from both their meet and the Avengers Training. When we left Groot, we walked back that direction and she was just finishing up her meet. I imagine, if you're in the area or if they already have a line at her posted meet time that you get in, you'd have no problem seeing her. Her meet seems quite long.

Groot did NOT sign. I doubt he could hold a pen. Not sure about Widow

The description of Blackwidow's greet makes me think they may not be doing the Toy Soldiers any longer.

If you are referring to the green army men from Toy Story, their little show is over by Ariel/on the pier. Completely different area of the park. We saw them on Sunday when the Black widow stuff had already started.
