Hi - we will be driving an RV and staying at FW... can my sister and her family come visit us in FW? Are they allowed to visit our site for a few hours after we get all set up? We would like to have a cookout and some pool time and then they will go home & we will get ready to visit the parks the following morning.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance - :earsgirl:

Sounds like fun. We had some friends stop by during our Easter trip, we were going to get together just for a cookout, they liked FW so much they ended up getting their own site instead of leaving after dinner.

Your guests will need to park and take the bus to your site or you could pick them up if you have a cart.

When we check in they always ask us if we will be having vistors. I always answer no so i don't know why they ask. We usually go pick up our friends in the parking lot if they happen to stop over.

Thanks guys,

I didn't really think it would be a problem but since our guests would not have KTTW cards I wasn't sure if they would be able to ride the bus to our campsite. But it sounds like there won't be any problem :flower:

THANKS!

In all my trips to WDW and FW I have never been asked for my resort ID on a bus.

We are having someone visiting us while we are there. Is it ok if they bring there dog with them. we will not be at a pet loop, can you have someone visit with pets at a non pet loop Thanks

I would say no. The pet loops have signs at the entrance that the dogs are not allowed beyond that point. Dogs are not allowed at the Fort , except within the pet loops.

Technically they probably should not bring their dog to a non-pet loop but there are exceptions to every rule. I would say it depends on the size of the dog. For example, I have two dogs. I could very easily take my small (5 lb) pommie anywhere because she is in my arms all the time. However, I could not take my 65 Doberman for a visit 'cause there is no hiding her. It also depends how long they are visiting. If it's only 1/2 day or so, I say go for it.

By the way, frequently you see dogs in non-pet loops.

Thanks for the info. The dog is only about 20 lbs they were only going to stay for a day or half.

A few years back we had some 10 people over to our RV for Thanksgiving Dinner. :grouphug: We fried turkey and steamed lobsters.
A great time and our guests had no trouble getting to us and then back to their resorts.

Just telling you what I have seen and that is people with a dog in non pet loop being told to move to a pet loop by security. As far as a visiting dog, that would not be allowed according to FW rules unless the dog is an assisting dog.

I just called FW and their response is that a visiting dog will only be allowed in a pet loop.

Sounds like fun to have your friends visit! :sunny:

Unfortunately, they cannot bring their dog, if you're not in a pet loop. The other campers have picked that loop because they don't have a dog, and could have allergies, or just not like dogs. It wouldn't be considerate to bring a dog in there.

Have you thought about switching to a dog loop? If you're far enough in advance, there's probably still room! :flower:

Back...maybe 9 years ago we were asked for id while traveling on a bus to the Caribbean Beach Resort. However, they had some problems with a mugging or something that summer( it was August).

We've also been asked for id while on the monorail at the Poly. While waiting for the monorail to go to MK...they asked those waiting on line for either their resort ID or the pass...that says you have access to Disney Transporation.
