Meeting Driver at Baggage Pick Up

It has been 2 years since we flew into MCO, but at that time the driver met us at the baggage area and helped us with the luggage to the door. He said due to security, he had to go to parking area to get the limo, and would met us back at the Luggage area. We must have waited 40 minutes or longer, for him to go get his limo and back to pick us up. It was late night, so I do not want to do that again.
Does anyone know if that is still the way they do it? Has the security change so that the Pick-up service can park by the baggage area?

I was picked up by FL tours at MCO last April and the driver met meat baggage reclaim then we walked a sohrt distance to the limo ( I think it was close to where the shuttles leave from so not to bad at all)

At one time the limos/towncars were in a designated lot that was quite far away, although I never waited 40 mintutes!

They have allowed the transportation companies to park much closer now but still not right ouside. Our wait was mabye 5 minutes, both in Oct and Dec. If you can manage the luggage alone you can ask the driver which space to meet him at and send him on his way while you grab the baggage. I do this when DH and I travel together but when alone with the DD's I love the help with the bags.

I think that is what we will do. Ask him where he would like for us to met him, and get the baggage ourselves. My kids are teenagers, so that won't be a problem.
Hopefully, since they can park closer, it will be easier. It was a late flight last time, and kids were tired and hungry, toooo long a wait. I guess since it was a limo, maybe he had a hard time finding a place.
