Meeting Chewie and Darth Vader

Somewhere in my brain, I have a memory of reading that the meet-and-greets with Chewie and Darth Vader at Launch Bay don't begin until 10 am. Is that right, or did I dream it?

That’s correct. Launch Bay doesn’t open until after the rest of the park. I think sometimes it’s even 11.

Yeesh, that puts a crimp in my plans. But Star Tours would be open when the park opens, right?

ETA: Is there a place to see when Launch Bay is going to open, or is it just a fun surprise when you arrive?

I think you’ll be qualified to give VIP tours by the time you actually make it into the parks. You might have the most thoroughly planned trip I’ve ever seen!

Boba Fett’s not always there. I think Kylo and Rey stopped swapping at LB since they’re at SWGE now, but Boba Fett is still there sometimes. He’s usually on the app when he is.

It reminds me of when we booked our first Disney Cruise and I researched so much that I booked us a 14-night Panama Canal crossing before we even WENT on the first cruise because I was so sure we were going to love it. I think knew more about the boat than half the repeat cruisers in the FB group.

We now have cruises 4 and 5 booked, so, I was right.

There is a lot we won't do this first trip - no parade, fireworks, ROTR, or the new Marvel Land... I want to see SWGE at night, and Cars Land too. So DH and I have basically already committed to upgrading our five-day tickets to Flexpasses on our way out the gates, and we will be back for Spring Break 2021.

So you guys have to put up with me for awhile

We're still 6 months out from our first DL trip, and I'm already softly planning what I'm calling Disneyland Phase II. There is a lot we won't do this first trip - no parade, fireworks, ROTR, or the new Marvel Land... I want to see SWGE at night, and Cars Land too. So DH and I have basically already committed to upgrading our five-day tickets to Flexpasses on our way out the gates, and we will be back for Spring Break 2021.

So you guys have to put up with me for awhile

The new parade might be up by the time you guys visit! And I still think your kid might handle a late night by then.

But even if you did every single thing, you’d still probably want to come back.

Spring is a really good time to go to DL. Easter lands on April 12 2020. Dapper Days is the following weekend. I think you should think about going during Dapper Days and participate. The best dressed and mannered people go during this time! check out their website and see if it is something you would be interested in doing.

I've heard a lot about Dapper Days on here, but I'll admit I don't really know what it is! By 2021 we will be beholden to The Boy's school schedule, but they get a lot of random days and long weekends off, so it is a possibility. I'll check it out!

Yes. Earlier in the summer, the hours were 11-8. We are here now and they’re closing at 6. Make it happen though. It’s the best character meet in the universe. If you have a Disney visa, there’s a special character meet as well with a dark side character.
