Meeting characters

We leave for DL on Friday! Yay! I'm so excited.

My older daughters favorite thing is meeting characters. She calls them "friends" and could spend all day meeting them. She has a long list of ones she would like to meet. We are going to Minnie's breakfast at the Plaza Inn and the Mickey's Surf breakfast at PPH. I haven't reserved Ariel's Grotto yet, but I'm thinking we will go there for lunch or dinner one day because she's into princesses this year.

Any other ways to meet characters besides just happening upon them? I think I read once that we could ask at City Hall about the schedule for the day?

There are a lot of them on Main Street near the front. That's where Donald Duck hangs out, we saw Cruella, Micky, and several others in that area. Just hang out near Mr. Lincoln and you'll see a lot.

In Carsland Mater and McQueen are at the Cozy Cone all day. Duffy the bear is near Ariel's I believe. We saw Handy Manny outside Disney Jr. Live and several others around Hollywood land - Sully, the Incredibles, and a few others I can't remember.

How common is Cruella on Main Street? I would love to meet her!

I saw her yesterday at the DLRR end of main street near the tunnel on the "exit" side.

Cruella is very often out to meet and greet at Disneyland, compared to Disney World where she is a rare character.

Make sure you visit the brand new Halloween Carnival where favorite Disney characters we'll be in there Halloween Costumes, plus, you'll get to meet vilains!

The "city hall" advice is often given, but it's not the best. Unless you get there right at park opening, you will be waiting behind people who are getting GACs and have other kinds of business to transact. Instead go to the "far left" of Main Street where a CM is stationed in front of the wait times board. Either by looking up the information on a computer, or phoning in, s/he can tell you, when and (in general) where a character will be out.

Cruella is very common at Disneyland Park. With the exception of the ticketed Halloween parties and (perhaps) the new Halloween Carnival, she is in found only in Main Street. In addition, to meet 'n greets, she appears in "the Firehouse Show" - Chip & Dale also appear - with members of the Disneyland Band.

Pooh, eeyore, tigger are always over by Poohs ride, and I (finally) found Chip and Dale (personal fave) in DCA near Bugsland.

Aladdin and Jasmine were near the jungle cruise area (I think) and Jessie and woody were in he back of DCA near the water and Screaming.

I'm challenging my girls to get the most pics w/ characters this trip. Gotta think of a good prize! Older dd (12) is a bit resistant to photos, and my 9 y.o. Thinks its funny not to smile in family pics lately. That's gonna change!! Bribe or threaten, it'll improve .
