Meeting Anna and Elsa at park opening

I hope this works and stays in place this year at least. Praying for good vibes

Does this take the place of the standby line? I know when they did their 3 day test at WDW, once they had 30 minutes worth of guests in the standby line, it was closed. So if you got there after the tickets were all distributed (which didn't take long) you were completely turned away.

There is no standby line, according to some posts on other boards.

The question arises, for those who get to the location first, do they really have to come back at a later time?

Here's a description of how the system worked today.

Thanks Perlster! It sounds very much like what they did on the 3 day test at WDW, except that they did not scan tickets there. I'm glad they are doing that here.

On the WDW test, they allowed 30 minutes worth of guests into the standby line to start the day, and the return times were soon after. They were designed to keep the return time around 30 minutes.

I would love to see reports on how quickly the tickets run out and how long this continues (whether it's a test).

Today, EE started at 9. The return passes were reportedly gone by 11:30.

Thanks! It will be interesting to see if they start going faster when more people find out about it. I hope people will keep posting how it goes.

The interesting part would have been to see how people took the news that they couldn't wait standby when they arrived after 11:30.

Another thing that is unclear: the pass states that you must also present your ticket upon return, but it is scanned again? (If not .. well .. :stir:)

Have you ever made an Anna or Elsa dress?

I'll be watching with great interest.

I haven't done an Anna or Elsa yet but am considering an Elsa gown for my daughter for our December trip.

Of course, I'm also just interested in how Disney is trying to use these standby return tickets. There was about an 80 page thread on the WDW side of things back when they tried this a month or two ago. They did it for A/E's standby line for 3 days then on Soarin for 3 days. People had very strong feelings about it.

They were gone closer to 11. I was there sometime between 11:05 and 11:15 and they had already given them all out.

Was there much of a guest reaction when they found out it was over for the day for them?

One more question on that. You said EE started at 9. Do you know if they started issuing them during the EE?

When I was there I was the only one inquiring so not that I saw. I'm sure they had their fair share of not so pleasant reactions, but definitely not from me ;) I was more curious than anything else. Even if they had some left I probably wouldn't have taken one.

Hopefully it worked out fairly well.

Soooo I have a question about this.....

We are going in 10 days, will this still be in play then does anyone know? I had already more or less had a plan of attack for my little girl to meet them and I was prepared to wait if I had to....now if I don't get passes for the day we are out of luck?

We will be there for 5 days and all but one day is during the week.....And if they are still doing this system is it still just best to try and hit this up ASAP?

Do they hand out tickets on EE days?

You again :)
I was looking at that WDW thread about the return tickets .. woowee ....

Oh, you had a question. I was just trying to figure that out when I saw a photo posted by someone :rolleyes1 in this thread.

That pretty much clinches the affirmative answer.
Another photo showed a return time of 2:30 - 2:50, reportedly obtained at 10:10.

We were in the area today (Tuesday, 2nd) during EE. They definitely appeared to be scanning tickets during that time. We saw people standing in the line and going in to see them during this time, and people waiting in line to get the return time tickets. We were totally confused because I didn't know they were starting this, and last time we were here (May) we had to do the whole mad dash/wait 3 hrs experience. It seemed like it was working well, but we did not take part in it, nor was I there to see people's reactions when the tickets ran out ;).
