Yesterday was my 60 day FP+ day but I my kids had a competition out of town so I wasn't able to log on until last night. Unfortunately there are no times for A&E that fit our schedule (we are RD until about 3 and going back to the parks may or may not happen so I don't want to choose times after 4)

So I'm wondering if I go there at RD what are my chances of a short wait?

Thanks

Hard to predict. Waits are normally the shortest for any attraction during the first (and last) moments of park operation. However, everyone else has the same intention of going first thing to beat the waits.

I don't have any experience with RD, but from what I've read the waits are a lot shorter at this time. I don't know how old your kids are, but in December we discovered that immediately after the fireworks also has a fairly short wait time. The only downfall is that you have to watch Wishes from behind the castle. They actually block off the line for PFH right before the show for a debris area. This means no one can get in line for around an hour. We got in line as soon as they opened it and we waited around 45 minutes. Like I said, I don't know if this is doable with your kids, but it worked great for a group of adults who wanted to meet A&E, but not waste hours waiting in line! Enjoy your trip! :-)

I would keep checking every day, several times a day. People move their FP around and you never know what might pop up. Also don't stop trying once you get there. We were able to score some very desirable FP during our trip last December.

If you are planning rd, you want to be at the front of the rd pack. We were going through the security 20 mins prior to opening, and they ran the MK opening show early so we weren't even through thr turnstiles when they let everyone in. We went straight to a&e, and the queue was already outside the building. It was posted as a 45 min wait, but we weren't moving at all. Not even 5 mins after we got in line it was listed as 90 mins (and the line had not doubled behind us, we were still closer to the end than the building).

I'd get there an hr before RD if you want the best shot at a short SB wait.

The actual wait time right now, 2.5 hours after opening this morning, is 30 minutes, posted time is 35, so that's not bad at all, especially compared to the waits of 170+ minutes that were posted just a few weeks ago.

Where are you getting actual (va posted) wait times? I thought Disney shut that option down?

This is the truth.

RD means be there 1 hour before the official entry time. So if MK has a 9:00 open you need to be there at 8:00. Then you have to go to either the right or left pathway under the train tracks and be as far ahead in those pathways as you can.

RD does NOT mean show up at 9 for a 9:00 open. It does NOT mean show up early and get a spot with a good view of the opening show.

In regards to A&E and 7DMT waits, RD means get there 1 hour early and wait under the train tracks in the tunnel.

We're going April 1- April 6 and my daughter NEEDS to meet A&E every day. MK opens at 7AM for EMH and we're getting there at 6:15 each morning. Maybe it's overkill, maybe it's not. But I figure if we go to MK from 7-2 or 3 that's plenty of time so we can go back to the hotel and have dinner and put the kids to bed at 6:00. Basically we're going to change their schedule to have them get up super early and go to bed super early. But with the crowd patterns during Spring Break this makes the most sense to me.

If I have an 8 am BBB appointment I'm assuming I'll be done by 830-845. We've done this before and been one of the first in Fantasyland since we are right at the ropes behind the castle. At this time the only people waiting were those with BBB or CRT ADR's. Maybe 20 of us.

Can I make it to A&E quickly without waiting forever or will there already be tons of people at those same ropes?
