Meet Mickey at Rope Drop

I can't believe I'm mentioning RD but I have some friends coming into town and they want to spend the entire day at MK so this will be my first ever RD. My question is since you are allowed into the park before RD are you allowed to see Mickey before the official time or do you have to wait? Secondly what can I expect in terms of a wait time to meet the princesses roughly an hour after the park opens? This would be on a standard weekend

Mickey doesn't meet until the published park opening time. Que will "normally" start loading approximately 10 - 15 minutes prior.
