it's been 3 years since our extended family's last cruise.
I'm trying to understand how the ticketed meet and greet sessions work. I understand you have to obtain tickets----where? when?

Are you able to get tickets to meet characters on more then one day? Will DGDs be able to meet with princesses on more then one day/one time? Elsa & Anna more then once? Are tickets per person or per cabin?

Please explain how it works now. Looking forward to not having to stand in line for extended periods, but I know the girls will want to see princesses and other characters multiple times during out 7 day cruise.

On embarkation day, look at the front page of your Navigator when you receive it at registration. It will tell you where to go. In my case (7-Night Western Caribbean (Itinerary C) cruise on the Disney Fantasy), we had to go to the Port Adventures Desk before 3:00 p.m. (they close in advance of the muster drill).

I don't know, because I didn't ask for more than one ticket, but if nobody else here has that answer, then you should ask the crew member when you get your tickets.

Personally, I would recommend against getting more than one ticket per event for a few reasons: 1) Let other people have a chance. 2) There is so much to do on the ship, you really don't want to use up precious time doing the same thing twice! 3) You can meet most, if not all, of the princesses -- probably not Anna and Elsa -- at other, separate meet and greets. They are not ticketed, and you have to get there early to avoid the long lines, but at least the experience would be different.

In our case, we had the princess meet and greet *and* Anna and Elsa one right after the other on our second "At Sea" day (Thursday). We did not try seeing them at any other event because we knew we had the meets to look forward to.

Are tickets per person or per cabin?

For the character meets, they are per cabin. For the Disney Junior character breakfast, it was per person.

BTW, you do need to produce the ticket to get in line; there is a crew member who checks these things. At the Princess Gathering, the crew member let us in even though we were 10 or 15 minutes early. At Anna and Elsa, though, they would not let us in until the exact time on our ticket.

The line was huge on the Wonder. They held it at Waveband. 3 CM were there. I waited for 45 minutes starting the line at the door of the club. When I left the line eneded at the Atrium.

I don't think we would try to get multiple tickets to the same event; however, I think DGD may want to meet with princesses more than just one time on a 7 day cruise. Wondering if we would be able to get tickets for more than one day.

I got my tickets which were for a time I had mixology. It was 1:30 for Princesses and 2:30 for Frozen. I asked the cm for different day or time and she said I would have to go to guest services later to change. Well, I went the next morning (day of meet and greets) and cm there said all days and times were booked. Luckily, we were able to make both times with mixology at 2:00. Showed up for Frozen at 3:20 and it was still a go.

Not to hijack the OP's thread but I've seen a photo where multiple princesses are in the atrium for the meet and greet. Does the ticket for that event include getting to see each princess or do you have to choose which one? Like would you start at one end of the line and work your way down to meet each one?

Each ticket is for a specific date and time, so if you wanted to do any meet more than once, it would require multiple tickets to that same event -- which I don't know if they would issue. Someone else has to confirm that they've done it or you have to ask the crew member who prints out your ticket.

If you are fine with, say, seeing all of the princesses at once at the Gathering, but Cinderella on her own, then you get the ticket for the Gathering, but can go see Cinderella on any date or time you see her individual character meet is listed in the Navigator (and the princesses come out throughout the cruise). No ticket is required for those, but I'd recommend getting there at least 10 to 15 minutes early if you don't want too long a line. I was surprised at how long lines could get for character meets. At least they seem not to cut off the lines too strictly; Peter Pan was scheduled for 15 minutes and he was taking photos for about 30.

Yes, you go down the line meeting each princess. At least the ones I've seen in the past you did.

You get to see all of them! It's so much fun. My daughter was a pro at marching up to the princess and plunking right into their laps by the time she got to Belle, ha ha!

We saw Cinderella, Ariel, Tiana, and Belle.

Thank you for your quick response. I have been reading for quite some time in preparation for our first cruise in February but I haven't seen a clear answer to this question yet. I would panic if we could only choose 1 to meet.

On our last cruise, back in August, we were able to do both the Frozen meet and the Princess meet back to back on the first sea day. We (I) got in line about 15 minutes before the first meeting (the Frozen one) and we were first in line. Got right in to see Anna and Elsa where my daughter had plenty of time to interact with them, walked out of Animator's Palate and over to the atrium to be about 10 minutes early for the Princess gathering. I think we were second in line for it. The whole thing couldn't have worked out better!

IMHO having these gathering as ticketed events is a terrific idea! If you plan on getting there a little early you can knock out all (most) of your meet and greets in a quick and stress free way so you can get back to the rest of the fun of your cruise!

Listed in the Navigator will show what characters are available each day. Different Princess are available each day that don't require a ticket.
This is from the Disney Cruise line blog June 2015. I think day 1and 3. Each cruise will have many meet and greets but not necessarily the same.

The tickets are limited availability and I have not heard of anyone getting tickets for multiple days or times. It may be possible if people cancel and turn in their tickets at Guest Services, but I've more often read of those who couldn't get tickets after the first day. As others have mentioned, you can find individual character greetings throughout the cruise, and watch the Club/Lab activities as well because often a character will appear there for the kids.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks to everyone. I think I have a better understanding of the process now.

Sounds like we need to be sure and obtain tickets to the princess gathering and for Elsa and Anna.
Then, there will be other "non-ticketed" times that we will be able to meet individual princesses and characters.

Great!!!

The best is when you run into them by accident! My kids met Donald and Chip 'n' Dale that way, and it made for some very sweet interactions because my kids were so excited.
