Susie-

I love the way your sewed things look! What settings do you use on your machine? You use your reg machine right, not a craft one? Also, what kind of needle? And HOW do you get it to line up so perfectly? I mean, how do you know what stich length so the corner lines up? I've always wanted to try...

Oh, do you pre-glue?

Thanks for any info!

Sorry....I posted this on the wrong swap.

Yes, I preglue. Not tons but enough to hold it down. A regular machine is used. The needles are a regular needle and have to be changed more often than sewng with fabric as the needle tons (after several projects and theose needles are kepy separate from sewing porject ones). The sulky type embroidery thread works better than plain cotton thread. But either can be used. Metallic thread is harder to sew with and tends to break easier. You just have to go slow and not try to xip through it. Those litlle mni machines just don't work as well. I am glad you think they are even. I look at them and they seem to get crooked. You know how things go when you you
stare at the same project for so long. I was starting to worry that people would get sick of so much stitching. As far as the corners. I think it is easier to go to the end of the line, pick up the neede, position and start again. That way , if it makes sense, you can make your corners even.

I hope to post the photo mats I did for the newbie swap today and you wil be able to see how each side is sewed and it is not sewn in the corners as they were cut out with corder adorners.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your kind words.

Everyone has been so nice.

Why would we get sick of stitching? I do think you need to find some elements for Stitch to stitch. :lmao:

Seriously, you could sewing every element you ever do and I don't think any of us would mind.

I just need to thread the fiber through the eyelets and AL's Toy Barn elements will be done.

I have the ToonTown topper done. Just need to figure out the other elements. What I meant to do at first isn't jelling for me. I just can't get the flat stickers to look good to me. I think I just like the shiny-ness of the glossy clip art.

We have 5 days left.. Please mail by Wed. or PM me so I know the status...
I'm still working diligently on my last set of elements.. but the :laundy: and soccer games keep getting in the way of my productivity.. Good thing school is tomorrow.. I'll have a 2 hour window to finish those up!

I still don't have printer ink. Dh was being...um...difficult this morning so I didn't get to Staples. We'll try again tomorrow. I just have my topper to do.

I'm almost done! My initial Chip and Dale plan did not work out the way it was in my head, so it was back to the start with that. These will be in the mail on Tuesday, with Debbie's CJ! :thumbsup2

Whew! Finished making them. I will bag them up in the morning and put them in the mail tomorrow. I'll send them priority so they don't take forever.

I am so excited. This is the first swap I participated in onthis site and I can't wait to get it back!

AWM, SIOH, & BAMB, that sounds great to me.. I still have the finishing touches to do for mine... So, I'll get started on those after DD gets on the bus. She isn't wanting to get up this morning...but who can blame her.. the thought of a 4 day weekend coming up is enough to make everyone wish it started today!

4 day weekend?? Can I come to your house???

 I thought for sure I would avoid it this time but noooo. Mother nature has other plans for me. I
'm heading out after breakfast to get my ink.

Yep, come on over... nothing exciting will be happening... just outdoor games w/ the kids and of course sports!!! LOL

Off to try to finish a few of my elements before picking up my kindergarten bunch!!!

I've gone postal. Priority with DC. I even remembered to put your two rolodex files inside. :woohoo: for me.

Thank you AWM!!!!
I'll be on the look out!!!

I just finished mine.. Yeah!!! Not really happy w/ Donald's set but the kids love them...
Off to bag and label and they will be ready to go!!! ;)

The visual in my head looks so good...but this paper just isn't cooperating. I might have to change my idea after all...sheesh....

I mailed mine today. I have a DC number but it is in the other room. I can check it if the package doesn't arrive in a few days.

Rebecca

Mine are packed up and going in the mail tomorrow!!
