Meet Connor.

So happy to see Connor and hope that he will be able to help heal your heart with Jude's loss. While he will never replace Jude, making new memories with Connor may bring you peace.

Dawn, I'm so glad you have another dog so soon. There is no describing the emptiness and deafening quiet of a house that no longer has a dog. He is beautiful, and it looks like you two are a perfect match for each other.:cloud9:

Nice Dawn! :thumbsup2

Anytime I ever had to put one of my beloved furbabies down I was never without another dog in the household.
Though the other dogs don't replace the one you lost, it does help out a great deal.

Good luck with your new guy!

No words of wisdom. Only wanting to say, he is lucky, you are lucky. And it takes awhile. For both of you. When I got Nicki, I felt like I was "cheating" on Bucky for awhile. It was weird.

What a handsome boy!! Connor is so fortunate to have found you and I am so pleased that your home isn't empty and quiet without Jude. Even though I hadn't posted before, I thought of you and Jude during his illness and worried about you.

Congratulations on finding Connor. I hope it works out for all. I just wouldn't be too anxious to let him off-leash in an unfenced yard. He's used to being bred and is still anxious. I wouldn't trust him this soon. Is it okay with the co-owner that he be off-leash? Do you know if he is a runner? Just something I would think about before taking a chance.

Enjoy him - those standards are a ton of fun. :):)

Dawn - Congratulations on finding Connor. From experience, I know how hard it is to lose a pet. Our oldest cat is now 18 and I worry about her constantly. I am sure that Connor will bring great joy to your life and, hopefully, will lift your spirits.

Again, I am so sorry about Jude.

I'm a sucker for a standard poodle. He's so pretty!!!

He's a beautiful boy....sounds like he just needs some time to settle in...
Seems like he's been bouced around a bit these last few weeks/months, plus spending a fair amount of time crated.

He's beautiful. Good luck with his training.:cheer2:

congratulations!! Connor is a very handsome boy! Give him time. We have show dogs (collies) and they take a little time to come around. Do the Obed or agility with him, that will help.

Our 3 year old male (who is not fixed) marked at first, now he does not because he quickly learned our house rules. I am sure Connor will be the same. The biggest thing to remember is just as if he was a pup, crate him if you can't watch him right now.

When they come to us as adults (ours was 13 months when we got him, also was a Ch.) we sometimes forget that they need to learn our house rules, even if they were good for the breeder.

Since we have had our dog we have had two other pups from our breeder for my daughter to help train and show. Soon she will be *trading in* the pup for an adult who is ready to show and win!! Each time a new dog comes into the house we have to stop and remember that they all need to learn our house rules and cannot be trusted alone.

He's a very handsome boy. Best wishes with your new family member.

When we lost our first Lab, Buddy Clifford, to cancer, I wanted to wait awhile before getting another one. However, one day a cousin called and she & her husband had a pair of Labs that had just had a litter. She wanted to know if we would be interested. Would we??? I knew, on the drive over there, we would be claiming one! They were so precious. They looked like little harp seals! They didn't even have their eyes open yet but we picked one out, went on vacation to WDW, and came home and waited for him to get weaned.

I'm glad we didn't wait too long before bringing a new dog into our home! That little pup just turned 9 on Feb. 13th!

Connor is a handsome lad. He has some pretty big paws to fill!:goodvibes

I'm sorry about Jude. I know how hard it was to bring Tigger's ashes home last Sat. I had DH go get them because I knew I would be a mess. He brought the box home and I cried like a baby. Tiggy was our 16yo kitty and our first "baby". We put his ashes on our entertainment center with his picture and he is with us when we are relaxing. He has been gone four weeks today, and I still can't believe it.

On to happier things, congrats on Connor. It was meant to be! I hope that everything works out for you!!

Take care!!

How did things go today???

By the way, congrats!!!! Connor is one lucky dog!!!
