Meeko's Walt Disney World Trip 2002
For my next day, I got a large amount of pictures, so I decided to break it into two posts so they would be easier to load. Here's the first half of the day which was spent at the Magic Kingdom.
Friday (Part 1)
The day started unusually late for a Disney vacation, 6 am (I'll never get use to no EE). Today would be the first theme park day of the trip and to start it out would be a morning at the Magic Kingdom. After breakfast at the Mara food court at the Lodge, it was off to the bus stop where a bus quickly left for the park.
After arriving and going through the security check, the park still was not open. I got in line at the turnstiles and waited for opening.
Soon, out from under the Train Station came a couple of characters, including Peter Pan and Wendy. Never seen Wendy in the parks before, so I went and got some pictures of her and Peter, as well as Cruella De Vil, who I had never seen other than shows. After a while, the park opened and it was off to Tommorowland and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. When I got there, they said the ride wasn't working and to try again later. No problem, just flip-flop the plans and go to Alien Encounter first. Out of all my years going to Magic Kingdom, this is one of few attractions I had never done. I'm glad I did this, but I've got to admit it's not my favorite. Never been exactly fond of shows like this, but it is beter than Sounds Dangerous at MGM. It also wasn't nearly as frightening as I heard. Myabe they've tonned it down; exiting the theater and hearing "Burnin' Love" didn't seem very traumatic.
Next, Buzz was working again so that was next. Not too high of a score, but not bad. I thought I'd be able to get a higher one since the ride stopped for a while and the laser cannons were still working. Oh well. Next it was over to Fantasyland.
After a quick spin by Cinderella's Wishing Well, it was on to Winnie the Pooh, which had a short line coompared to ther times I've been. When the ride was over, Toontown was open and it was off to Barnstormer (start off small

)The ride was broken down as well, so I went to Mickey's House for a while. Barnstormer was still closed when I finished, so I headed to the Castle since Cinderella's Suprise Celebration was going to start in a couple of minutes.
I've got to say, I loved the show. I can't believe it's taken 30 years for Disney to think up to put a show staring Cinderella at the stage in front of her Castle. Easily the best live show I've ever seen at Magic Kingdom. While the characters were comming out for greetings after the show, I figured now might be a good time to hit Toontown since most of the kids looked like there wasn't a chance they were going to get dragged away from that many characters. The Barnstormer was working again and I got on. Cute ride. Next it was time to take the train back to Main Street. On the train, it started raining, but didn't last long. After the train ride, it was over to the Expo Hall to see the Discover the Magic Kiosks there.
The kiosks turned out to not be the most exciting thing there. Mary Poppins, Cinderella, and Daisy Duck were all there posing for pictures and signing autographs. A little later, Cindy and Mary both left and the elusive Princess Aurora came out, another character I had never seen before. I got her picture, but then had to leave. It was getting late and I still had to get over to MGM. Took the monorail to the TTC and got to the bus stop for MGM. Unfortunatly, it began to pour down rain. Could have been worse, could have rained in the park. Anyway, after a while, the bus came and it was off to MGM.
