Meeko's Walt Disney World Trip 2002

Continuing along with my trip, I'm moving on to EPCOT. There were many pictures from this day as well, so I have split it into two reports. Here is the first half.

Like the other days, the morning started at 6 am with getting ready for the parks and latter having breakfast at the Mara. As circumstance turned out I was running a little late and ended up being able to see some of the characters from the Character Caravan. Next, it was on EPCOT.

When I got there, the park was just opening and the Character Bus was out front of the park. Got a few pics and headed on.

The Bus was primarily Mickey and friends, Pinocchio characters, and a few others. No Pooh unlike other times I had seen the bus (I would see them later elsewhere). Many of the characters here really enjoyed getting their pictures taken.

The first attraction of the morning was Honey I Shrunk the Audience, another attraction I had never done before. Got to admit, I liked it more than I thought I would. It was great. I loved the effects in it. Could have done without the snake, though.

Next it was over to the new Figment Version of Journey into Imagination. There was no wait and the greeter at the start of the queue was doing all but begging people to come in (most people didn't know about it since Disney hasn't even added it to the EPCOT guide map yet). It was cute and much improved over the last ride. If you like Figment, there's tons of him here. I liked it even better than I thought I would. Defiantly worth seeing.

Next, it was over to the Land to do the Living with the Land boat ride. Again, FastPass wasn't necessary, but there was some wait. Had not done this one in a while, and enjoyed it. It was about 11 and World Showcase was opening. First it was off to Norway to see some of the shops and exhibits and then back to Mexico to do the same. Lunch was next and today it would be at the San Angel Inn. Even got a table overlooking El Rio Del Tiempo. It was wonderful. After the lunch, I went on the boat ride which had no line for it either. After that it was on to China. There didn't seem to be as much entertainment this year as in past years. There was a band in Norway, so I headed over there to see a little of their show.

Next it was off to Germany and Italy. Snow White was appearing in Germany, but no other entertainment could be found in either pavillion. American Adventure seemed to have the most entertainment for the day.

Both the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Band and the Voices of Liberty were performing. Both were excellent as usual and very patriotic, maybe even more so than in past years.

America also had a small new exhibit over by where you enter the Theater. One of the displays was a flag that was found at the World Trade Center. Skipped the show, and it was on to Japan. After a quick trip through the shops and gardens, it was off to Morocco to do the same. Neither pavilion had much entertainment. The only thing I could find was Aladdin way in the back of Morocco. France was next so I got something cool to drink (no rain today so it was extremely hot) and watched the street performers. In the next report, I'll continue my afternoon at EPCOT, including Shockwave and Tapestry of Dreams.

the snakes in HISTA......makes my skin crawl too...love your pictures...you did good!!

Thanks for posting your pics/report! As always, looking forward to the next installment...:)
