We’re going to a 5 night Med cruise in July and I was looking and deciding which excursions we would consider... I pretty much decided on the Cinque Terre tour and booked Rome in Limo already but am lost with Cannes... Ive read some negative reviews on Disney’s tours of Monaco/ Monte Carlo and generally cannot find any good recommendations on this port.

Which excursion would you recommend if we want to see Monte Carlo/ Monaco? I don’t mind booking with Disney or outside. It’ll be 2 adults and 1 child. Thanks in advance!

Personally I would stay in Cannes and go to the beach. We are not pleased with our excursion last year. Monte Carlo was supremely overrated. See my signature for a full report of our excursion (turn phone sideways).

This summer we're doing Provence Trips & Tours; (6 hours E450 for 5; plus a E50 down payment). Found it on trip advisor. Very well reviewed. He'll pick us up a the pier and we go from there. Just the 5 of us, not 400 of our closest friends with us

thanks! I’ll read your review for sure!

If you just want to walk around Monaco to say you’ve been there, you could take the train. We walked from the train station to the Prince’s Palace in less than 20 minutes.

Oh I’ll look into this! I was thinking I’d just really like to see it. It’s like going all the way there and just missing out? Lol, first world problems, I know. I was looking at half day tours too at Viator but couldn’t really find any that I liked yet...

We did the Nice, Monaco, Monte Carlo tour with DCL last summer. It was great.
I Ioved Nice and would have liked more time here. My sister wanted to go to Monaco, and I'm glad we did.
In Nice, we went to the market and picked up a picnic lunch, then to the beach.
We watched the changing of the guards in Monaco and had a banana split at Cafe de Paris in Monte Carlo.

Thanks for the review! I was looking at this tour too and was wondering how it was... sounds awesome :)

Well, it's been a few years, but we did the DCL excursion to Monaco/Monte Carlo when we did our Med cruise. I thought it was worthwhile. Maybe it's changed since then.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I’ll just jump in with low expectations and hope for the best! :)

Anyone been in Cannes during the film festival? Can you go start spotting? Does it make travel in the area more complicated? I will be there towards the end of next year's film festival and we are wondering what to do.

Our guide in Cannes said the traffic is always crazy and during the festival it becomes "impossible." We had a lot of traffic in the area and got back to the ship 45 minutes late and this was not during the festival.

Thanks, we dont plan on going further than Cannes. Originally I was thinking beach day but then I googled festival dates and Id rather go star sighting if thats possible since we can go to the beach at home. Im hoping someone that's cruised or been there during the film festival will chime in with some pointers (or tell me not to bother). :)
