My family will be in So Cal in August, visiting Disneyland. We were thinking of going to either Medieval Times or Pirate Dinner Adventure one night. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two (aside from the obvious theme)? Is one better than (or more worth) the other?

Thanks!

I'd like to know too as we plan to book it this week for our trip, they both look good. Can anyone compare Medieval to the Tournement of Kings in Vegas?

Ive been to both and there are quite different from each other. The Pirate show was much longer and the food was a spread. There was a lot more going on in the Pirate show and they gave you utensils to eat with. I did enjoy Med Times too. But I probably had more fun at the Pirate show.

I read a lot of mixed reviews about Pirates. Some good and some bad. Lots of people said the food was mediocre and the show wasn't that great and was not worth the price they charged.

I love them both, I went to Medieval for my birthday, and took my boyfriend to Pirates for his. The lobby at Pirates is PACKED when they let you in, since they do hot appetizers before the show. Pirates also includes beer or wine in the price for the adults, I'm not sure if MT does that.

The biggest difference is the theme, both have crowd interaction, the 'team' you cheer for, all that.

If you like horses, do MT, if you like pirates, do that one. :)

We did Medieval Times in Orlando. The food was very good. They asked if we were there to celebrate anything. It was my birthday. They brought me a cupcake with a lit candle after dinner. The show was fun! Afterwards the cast posed for pictures. In the lobby there was a bar. I got a margarita in a souvinear hurricane glass. They also had things to buy. It was a good time.

We have done both and really enjoyed them both. It really depends on your group, I would simply pick the one that most will enjoy. :) The Pirate dinner is more lit, you can see your food, you have a choice of what you're eating and drinking. The food was good but not 5 star by any means, appetizers beforehand so be sure to get there early. The audience gets to participate in the show, my DBF was in it 2 or 3 times, my girls were in it at the end. They loved that! We met the cast after and got to take pictures with them, they were all very nice and in character. The villans were sneery, the Princess was ....well, Princessey. LOL
MT was fun as well but there are some differences. The appetizers before were not included in the show/dinner package so we simply didn't do that part of it. The food at MT was a set menu, it was good but you couldn't really see anything. It's dark in the arena, very dark! The servers used flashlights when we were there so they could see your plates! LOL So, while it was good my kids didn't eat much because they couldn't see it to tell what it was. The show was amazing!! Very real, the use real swords and you can see the sparks fly! They lower a mesh net around the arena because things have been known to fly and they don't want any injuries to the guests, kinda scary but it's really a neat show. We were able to meet the Princess and the King after but not the Knights. Let me know if you have more questions and I will do my best to answer.

We decided on the Pirate show last week while we were there. We really enjoyed it! The food was not fabulous, so I was glad we had stocked up on the appetizers before the show. You really do need to arrive 90 mins before the show but they do a little number before the show too. We all got to have a little part in the show too which made it more fun for us. Is it worth the money, probably not, but we as a family really enjoyed it and it was a great memory which I don't mind paying for.
