Hey all!

My family is going to Medieval Times for my birthday (I've always wanted to go, but we never got around to it). I know that it's dress code is casual, and most people just wear jeans and a t-shirt, or similar, but I was wondering how out-of-place I would be if I showed up in a cloak?

I'm LOVE the medieval-era, and have a cloak that I wear mostly around the house (yeah, I'm a bit of a geek) and for Hallowe'en, but thought this might be the perfect time to wear it. I'm not a huge fan of having attention on me, but I dress up for conventions, so I'm getting used to that factor :P If it gets hot or messy (food-wise, which I'm expecting) I'll just take it off while we're seated, but thought it might be fun.

Any thoughts?

Wouldnt be out of character although you will probably be in the minority. As long as you are not wearing a mask (which is illegal in the state) you will be fine. Have a great time! :)

We went at the beginning of the month (July). I can say there were no other people dressing to the theme but I suppose that in itself shouldn't stop you. The meal is very messy and mostly you eat in the dark so I would expect that as soon as you take your seat you should just take it off. Which doesn't really leave you much point in wearing it at all excepting before the show while you are waiting to let you in . Seating is pretty cramped so it wouldnt be out of the question for something whether it is your food and drink or someone else's to get spilled on it. Personally I would pass on the cloak it just seems more effort than what it is worth. That's just me.
