Hey everyone,

Can you all please share with me what you pack in terms of medicine essentials for your (Disney) cruises? I am curious to know what you pack with respect to situations in which someone were to experience headache, heartburn, nausea, allergies? Anything else?

For me, I'm packing ibuprofen for headache and pain, pepto Bismol and Pepcid ac for heartburn, and Dramamine for nausea, and Zyrtec for allergies. How about you?

I'm sailing on Disney cruise in July.

Imodium. Anti-gas tablets. I don't use it, but I'd go with Bonine for sea sickness (less drowsy) than Dramamine.

Also important - sun screen (lots of it). Eye drops.

You might fine some more info from this recent thread: there are several lengthy answers.

Over the counter medicines you always bring/pack

I am preparing lists of things I need to purchase and pack (2 adults + 2 teenagers) for our upcoming cruise and I was wondering what over the counter medicines do people always make sure they pack or wish they had remembered to pack so they do not need to purchase it while on board or while at port? (I also want to make sure I am not missing anything from my own list of things I think we will need ie Tylenol, Advil, Pepto, gravol, etc)

Oh! Thank you so much. I'm sorry I missed this.

I would wager that I'm the biggest "overpacker" around, and my significant other always says "Do we really need that??". Well, yes. I became ill on our very first cruise with a bacterial ear infection. Was stuck in my cabin for 6 of my 7 cruise days - though room service Mickey Bars every night helped. The following items were lifesavers for me:

Emergen-C packets - these are SO important if you're running a fever!!
Mucinex
Nyquil/Dayquil
Tylenol/Aleve/Advil
Thermometer
Decongestants
Anti-Nausea chewables

We (meaning "me", as my guy would show up to a 7 day cruise with 4 shorts, 2 sets of undies, a baseball cap and a t shirt if I'd let him) also pack:
Moleskin
Bandages
Neosporin
Bug spray
Aloe vera
Bonine
Sunscreen
Lip Balm
Sleeping aids (melatonin, usually)

This is not the totality of our first aid/medicine kit, but most of this can be pretty compact, and is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying it on the ship (if they have it) or trusting what you might buy in Port.

I know that all this might sound like overkill, but if - heaven forbid - you find yourself under the weather on your cruise, you'll be so glad you brought them.
