We could probably give up since she isn't replying anymore. She has posted on other threads but not on this one. I don't think anyone is going to get through to her.

OP, in case you read this thread again, have you thought of being a court reporter? I am pretty sure you can go to a tech school to learn how to do it and you can have your own business or work for a court.

It doesn't hurt to drop this thread since the points have all been made. We have no idea what the OP'er is thinking. She may be done with all of us and hasn't looked at this thread since her last post. However, there is the chance that she really does want to make some changes in her life, has continued to read these posts, and now sees that she has a ton of options available. Maybe this thread will motivate her to explore the possibilities. Someone just posted about becoming a court reporter. That is another great option. I'm hopeful she is reading and taking this all in.

That is evolving just as medical transcription is evolving. Whereas it used to be that a court reporter was present for every court hearing and every deposition, now that there is more reliable digital recording equipment, some jurisdictions and firms have gone to recording everything. The recording may even be done via telephone or computer. Then it is transmitted to someone like me for transcription.

I heard that was a dying profession too because some courts have been using the voice recognition software but some don't like it and go back to a court reporter.
