Three weeks ago I played volleyball with a church group. It was super hot that day, and at one point I went for the ball, hit it, and then fell. Im not sure how or why (other than just losing my balance), but I had no idea it was coming. I literally hit the ground and thought how did that happen? Anyway, because I had no preparation time, I landed hard and on my left wrist. It hurt at that moment, but I did the hop-right-up
. Im alright routine and continued to play.
Long story for this question: I iced my wrist, and continued to use it. I can use it, I type all day, and have a normal range of motion without pain, but when I try to use it to push myself up, turn a doorknob, lift heavy things with it, or bend it too far one way or the other, it hurts on the top of the wrist, and sometimes it will just ache for a moment or two for no reason. Its been three weeks and quite honestly the pain is probably stronger now than it was then. Is this normal for maybe having sprained it, and how long does it take to heal, or is possible I did something else that wouldnt be immediately obvious? It never swelled or bruised or anything . Its just tender.
Has anyone had any experience with this . I dont want to worry to prematurely, or go in for something simple that will eventually heal itself, but I dont want to cause any additional damage either.
Any suggestions?
