I did not know where else to post this. Im new so please excuse me if i posted in wrong section.

My aunt will be traveling to disneyworld in november. her husband requires dialysis. is there a hospital/ facility near the resort that will be able to provide this for him. thank you.

You may want to post this on the DisAbilities forum, I'm sure someone there will be able to give you more info. I only know of Celebration Hospital in the area. Perhaps a google search for "dialysis Lake Buena Vista Florida" will give you some options.

There are several DaVita offices in the area that perform dialysis services. He should talk to the staff where he currently gets dialysis, and they should be able to asssist him. DH is on dialysis, and there is a nurse liason there that is going to set it all up for him at the Celebration location.

I would call and have one of them check with their insurance carrier.
My thinking is not only location is important but whether or not their insurance is accepted there.

Good Luck!

I'm going to move this to disABILITIES, they're a great resource for this sort of question. :)

His current dialysis center will be able to arrange everything for you, including a place, the doctor's orders he will need and billing.
In some dialysis centers, it is a nurse and in some it is a Social Worker. Even though this is new to your family, many people travel while on dialysis, so chances are good that the staff at his center have been thru this before.

Also, follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread (or look near the top of this board).
Post 3 has some resources for people traveling while on dialysis.

Definitely get hold of the Social Worker at your dialysis center and have them make the necessary arrangements. That way you will know that all of the appropriate paperwork has been generated and transferred to the target center. Also have the Social Worker generate a travel letter identifying you as a dialysis patient and that you will be carrying medical supplies necessary for your care. This will help with TSA, it won't get you out of screening, but it will help them understand why you are carrying your stuff.
Have a great trip!

Not necessary; TSA won't even look at this. They see medical supplies every day and don't care why you need them.
