I just know you can help me out here.
I've just booked my first disney cruise.
Because I need (and got) a handicapped accessible stateroom, I need to fill out the medical form. Ok, no problem. Just one question though; what do they want you to fill out at the 'current medical status' part? I can think of a couple of options.
- just needs
- a diagnosis
- a combination of both of the above
- option 3 + detailed info about medical status and all of those 'has a problem with.....' 'such and so might happen'.
I'm off to my GP in an hour (didn't expect to get an appointment so quickly
) and am wondering what he should put in there. I know we should inform them about the powerchair and needing a rollin shower (hence, handicapped accessible stateroom), but what else?
Only a diagnosis, ok no prob. But option 4? That's like a laundry list of small and bigger stuff caused by that one main diagnosis. We'll need like 5 more lists to fill that out.
Those are things that I'm certain of being able to handle on a cruise, as I do in every day live. I know where I'll need some help or a certain aid and will inform disney of this. For instance, I'm due to have a stoma soon. No big thing, but a potential risk (most will be internal, most medical professionals will not notice me having it. So some heads up on what to take care of in the event that I can't is neccessairy) if not taken care of in the unlikely event of me being unconcious for whatever reason. So of course I'll inform DCL of that after the operation, for the 'just in case'.
But do I need to inform them of the rest? ( I don't want to keep things behind, but on the other hand don't want to 'hand out' my medical file to 'anyone').
