Hi all,

I apologize if this is the wrong area to be posting this in, I looked around a bit and didn't see anything, though I vaguely remember a topic like this way back a few months ago.

Anyway, I like to be prepared, overly so I think. In any case, we're staying off-site in a rental home. If for any case either of us would need to see a doctor, or have a sudden health problem, are there clinics nearby? Or something along the likes of that? I mean I realize it's a fairly big area, so there would surely be a hospital close by, but sitting in an ER for god knows how long, when there could be an alternative, isn't my idea of a vacation well spent.

I'm just curious, I like to have all my bases covered just to be on the safe side.

TIA!

There are several free-standing 24 hour clinics in the area called Centra Care which are part of the Florida Hospital System, including one right outside the WDW Gate at Hotel Plaza Blvd. And the Celebration Hospital is also part of Florida Hospital System.

Do you know where you will be staying; this is a very large area.

Yeah, we're staying in off of 192 in a rental property, near Siesta Lago Drive I believe it's called. So fairly close to Celebration from my estimations. Thanks for the reply :)

DD had a severe asthma attack on our last trip and was treated at the Centra Care that is near Downtown Disney. The service was good and the wait wasn't too bad, and the clinic is connected to a Turner Drugstore, so her prescriptions were filled immediately. I know Centra accepts many types of insurance plans, but they did not take ours, so I had to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed at home. I don't know if Turner takes insurance, but there are also major chain pharmacies all over as well.

I pass Siesta Lago on my commute (sometimes). It is basically an East-West street between Poincina Blvd and US192. In that area 192 runs North-South rather than its normal EW. Both Poinciana Blvd and US192 intersect with State Road 535; going about 3 or 4 miles North on SR535 takes you under I-4 and past the Hotel Plaza Blvd WDW Gate.

You would go past that gate and at the next traffic light make a U-turn, the entrance to the Centra Care if after therestaurnts and hotels but before the WDW entrance.
