media's expert on WDW says.....

Wow! is that guy way off the mark. I am amazed to see how many "experts" don't know a thing about Disney... in fact a huge majority of TA's haven't even been to WDW but yet they are supposed to sell Disney vacations :confused3

there are a ton more places to go than Disney
Really? Where?... I can't think of one ;)

(Only Goofin around - but serious There is no other place I would rather be)

Hmm...I wonder how do you become an "expert" on things like this? :confused3

I guess I can go home tonight and tell my DD3 (the one that asks me EVERYDAY on the way to school as we pass the highway on-ramp that we take to Disney when we are going again) that an expert said we need to wait until she is 5. Maybe I should let the "expert" break the news to her...THAT would serve him right!

I think that with proper planning, you can take your children at any age. I just think that people have to be prepared to tour with a 2 yr. old. My DS8 will take his 4th Disney vacation in Aug and it will #2 for DD3. They both love Disney and do a great job. Because of their age though, we don't do commando touring. We adjust our planning to accommodate what they handle. I too wouldn't stay offsite. We always take an afternoon break from the parks and go back to the resort. I could't imagine the price difference that it would have to take to make me give that and the EMH up.
Almost my family, exactly. We will be at WDW in Sept. with 8 yo DS, his 6th trip and 2 yo DD, 2nd trip. I made a mistake of doing commando with DS's 1st trip at 2 yo. Many melt down crying episodes.

Now I know better. We take the days as they come. What we see, we see and we take plenty of breaks. Mainly for DH and I though. DD is definetly a commando 2 yo. She could do all the parks all day, with no problem. DS at 8 is old enough too. But we stay longer and stick with the slow pace and longer stay times. And I am lucky that my DS goes to a school that doesn't mind I pull him out for vacations.
