Mechanics of 11 month window

Suppose we want to arrive Oct 20 for a week.

On Nov 20 (11 months out), can we reserve the whole week?

Or can we only reserve this on the 27th?

I have heard people talk about calling each day? Would that mean book the 20th on the 20th and extend the stay by 1 day each day? Is that what you have to do?

I understand I could do that, however, after reading the home resort frustrations thread, I am not so sure it would work.

I find it hard to book day -by- day so I wait until my check-out date to call. I just made my reservations for a 1-bdrm at BCV for 12/26-1/2 last week and I had no problem.

You can book the whole week on the 27th

or if you are nervous about not being able to get a villa than you could call day by day

example On Nov 21rst - call & book Oct 20th - state you are linking this to more nites (they will ask you your intended checkout date).
On Nov 22 call & book Oct 21rst, remember to state that this is a linking reservation (you will have the reservation number from the day before).

You usually only need to do this during very popular times of the year. If you are planning on staying at BW or BC during the Food & Wine Festival (Oct) then you may need to do this.

To date i've never have had a problem getting a villa when i've booked the whole week at one time. I have done the day to day booking when i wanted a 2-bedroom standard bw view for Thanksgiving and just did it for the same accomodations for NYE 2007

If it makes you feel better and you have the time, book day to day, and after the initial reservation additional days takes no time at all to add on a day to day bases.

I never book day by day. I'd probably only try it if I were going between Christmas and New Years. I've never had a problem booking BCV full stay for food & wine festival.

You could call for the first day of your stay on November 21 (11 months from the checkout date for the first night) and ask MS how the resort looks for that time period. MS can advise whether calling daily or just on the 27th would work for you.

In most cases, you will not need to call daily at 11 months except for GVs at any of the resorts , Standard View at BWV, BW view at BWV.

Those reporting having difficulty at their home resorts are calling at about 10 months for popular dates (Early December is a very busy time at DVC resorts).
