Meatloaf with a mushroom allergy?

I am allergic to certain varieties of mushrooms. Since I can't be sure of the types of mushrooms used in various menu items, and since the reaction is so severe (hives, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.) I usually avoid foods prepared with mushrooms altogether.

DH and I decided to try 50s Prime Time Cafe because we heard rave reviews about the meatloaf. I looked up the menu today and the meatloaf is prepared with mushroom gravy.

Can anyone tell me, is this just a gravy poured over the meatloaf, or is the meatloaf baked with mushrooms inside? Can you ask for it to be prepared without it? How? Should I call ahead of time? Or will it be enough to mention it when I order?

I'm thinking that I may just have to settle for something else. Can anyone offer advice? Thanks in advance!!

I had the meatloaf in July and it was not as described on the on-line menu. It had a tomato sauce on top, not mushroom gravy. Can't remember seeing any 'rooms in it either. I would call the restaurant directly and ask your questions.

It is best to call and ask directly.
I just had meatloaf at Big River Grille--I don't BELIEVE I saw any Mushrooms in it.

Next question. Where do I find phone numbers for the individual restaurants? I don't know for sure if the Central Dining Reservation number would connect me with someone who really knows what they are talking about.

I called WDW-DINE regarding my DS's severe food allergies and they gave me numbers for the chefs at each restaurant I had a PS in. I suggest giving them a call. They knew what they were talking about as they are the ones who prepare the food.
