Meatloaf on Idol last night

I agree. I think that meatloaf was past it's expiration date.

I was very embarrassed for him. I am suprised that Simon let him keep singing.

Talking with hubby right now and he sounded great and said that he is singing it the way he is always singing. Okay honey--that was Celine Dion!

I told DH they must have just picked him up from the senior center. DH said they got him from the rehab center. It was sad in any event. No way I would have held hands with him at the end holding that red sweat rag.

When Meatloaf was introduced I told the kids (9 and 6) that this guy was a great singer. Memories of "Bat Out of Hell" swirled thru my mind, etc etc. About half way thru the sing DD9 looks over at me and said "You are kidding, right?"

Yep, Meat was bad last night

the song was to slow and boring on top of that.

Did Meatloaf ever perform that song before, or was it just a Celine Dion song? I know they both have the same songwriter, but I don't recall Meat ever singing that song. From the way he sounded last night, I can see why.

I agree, he sounded terrible. And he looked like he was going to have a heart attack right there on the stage -- he kept shaking and sweating. It was painful to watch.

I googled to prove hubby wrong and pulled up the songwriters web site. It was listed as a Celine Dion song but not in ML's huge list of songs.

I wonder if he would not relinquish rights to his own songs. Would make sense--we want to remember how good they were.

Meatloaf was awful and he was shaking his head so hard I thought he was having a seziure. I actually felt bad for him.

First of i must tell you we are HUGE meatloaf fans i have seen him in concert for last 5 year in a row, we even went to his VH-1 stortytellers at the Beacon theatre . He puts on agreat show. And he has sang that song a few times in concerts and he Patty sounded way better than he and Katherine.
Give the guy a break maybe he had an off night!! Looking forward to Bat out of Hell III

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. I thought maybe something was wrong w/ him. I came into work and asked my co-workers what they thought. He was really shaky and didn't sound like he was up to par.

Who cares how Katherine felt ,she had an incredible opportunity to sing with a legend!! She she just be happy she was able to share the stage with him!

He looked AWFUL! I remember when he lost about a hundred pounds, he looked good and was doing some acting in movies. About 5 years ago I guess? Well, its apparant he has gained the weight back, and has other medical problems.....hope he recovers and makes a great comeback.
