Meatball sub anywhere in the World?

So in just three short weeks I'll be visiting the World with my little (16) sister :jumping1:

We're from reeeally far away and so this will be her first real American culinary experience :-)
She has her heart set on trying a meatball sub for the first time. (I know, I know, not gourmet but we don't care :P)
After looking it up, I know they used to be served at Pizzafari which is still closed (?) and Pizza Planet which will definitely still be closed.
They're also served at Earl of Sandwich (but I understand that's their take on it and not the "classic" sub).

Anywhere else you know of? Doesn't have to be great, just the classic fast food type thing :D

Thanks!

Are you staying on site? I know that a few of the resort QS have them.

Rusty's got it right with Boradwalk Baker and its quite good. Not quite the same but next door at ESPN they also have a philly cheese steak. Not exactly meatballs, but surrounded by TV's playing sports everywhere may be the quintessential American Experience ; )

Boardwalk-To-Go
Thanks :-)

We are! First few nights at Pop and then last nights at CR. We're also gonna be visiting the Polly, AoA (cause it's next door) and the WL.

Pizzafari
Thanks, but I don't think it's reopened yet

Thanks! :-) It's funny but we're sort of half and half (American-wise) so we're very familiar with the culture but don't get to eat much of the food since we live so far away...
(Although philly cheese steaks are becoming more popular here nowadays! :D)

It's meatballs in marinara sauce with cheese on a hoagie roll. That IS a "classic" meatball sandwich.

A typical "sub" is more cold cuts and toppings.

Thanks. The reason I mentioned it might not be the classic meatball sub is because of this: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015/01/15/news-cannonballs-are-back-at-earl-of-sandwich/
I'll quote: "Earl of Sandwich has just announced that the beloved Cannonballs — that’s their whimsical take on a meatball sub — is returning to the menu at participating locations!"
Maybe I just misunderstood what they meant :)

Last time I checked, there was a meatball sub available at The food court at Pop Century. Might be most convenient for you since you are staying there

Im a New Yorker born and raised and I love the Cannonballs sandwich at Earl. Its classic meatball sub with a whimsical name.

Just back from The Earl and the cannonballs sandwich has not returned to the menu yet.

Awesome, thank you!

Hmm, well, we're only arriving on the 19th so maybe it'll be back by then. They have some pretty amazing looking things on their menu even without the Cannonballs :-)

Yeah. I personally am not a fan of Earl - I don't get the OMG SOOOOOO GOOD thing - but there is nothing really "unusual" about their sandwiches other than the "cutesy" (I prefer to save "whimsical" for things that actually ARE) names.

There is one at Magic Kingdom as well. Pinocchio Village Haus has had them in the past.

I have friends who just ate at Pizzafari yesterday so it's open. I think the refurbishments ended in October. Pizza Planet will close for several months starting Jan. 11th. The meatball sub at Pop Century is decent. It's been a while since I had one on the Boardwalk but when I did it was very good.

I've never tried a meatball sub on property but I know they have one on the menu at Pizza Planet in HS.

Thanks for that. I'll keep it in mind if we do end up going there :-)

I read somewhere that they discontinued the meatball sub there :guilty:

Good to know it's open!! There was a thread on here not so long ago and people said it wasn't back open yet. So good to hear!

Thanks, but Pizza Planet will be closed for refurbishments

We just ate at Pinocchio's right before Christmas and they didn't have a meatball sub.
Yep. That's what I thought. :(
