Mears ?

I am flying out this Thurs on SouthWest....Disney here we come

Ok...here's my problem.

There are 5 of us flying....4 of us are staying on site and my oldest son is meeting friends in Florida. The problem is my son is meeting them in Downtown disney so he will need a ride to our hotel with us and then will be going to Downtown Disney ( he is only 18 so I will not leave him at the airport to figure out transportation for himself) We (the four of us) can use the free magical express but my other son cannot due to him not being on our reservation. Then I thought I would just rent a car from airport. I spoke to ME about it to see if there was anything I could do to bring him on the bus with us. What they stated was we could go to mears once we land and buy him a mears ticket and they said it would be around 20.00 and then he could come on bus with us. Has anybody heard of this? I dont want to get there and be stuck having to rent a car at the last minute.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I cannot add him to my ressies as we have 4 on our ressies...cannot add a 5th as would be above room limit and i would have to rent another room and he will not be staying with us.

We have a similar situation. We are staying on-site; my son-in-law will be also in town attending a conference during that time. On his last day there, he would like to meet us in the park for a while, then later that day take a bus back to airport from our resort. Will he be able to ride the Mears bus? Should he buy his return ticket when he gets to the Orlando airport. He will not be going to the Disney resorts (to use ME) since he is staying off-site.

Mears will transport him to whatever hotel he pays them to take him too. He could be taken directly to the DTD area if he wanted. Posters have reported that Mears puts you on the same bus as the ME, but I don't think it's guranteed.

However, if he is 18 and is able to stay someplace else then I think handing him over to Mears would be just fine.

VLee, since it's a one day visit, I would suggest he make his pickup plans when he first talks to Mears....

Thanks for the reply. Does anybody know around how much mears charges for a ticket....I'm guess will need round trip as he will be meeting us early on departure day in our hotel lobby for trip home.

I'm wondering if it might just be cheaper to rent a car for the day when we arrive and then again day we leave.

Any ideas as to price would be greatly appreciated or if somebody has number to mears where I could call myself and get answers before arriving would be great also.
