Mears vs Uber/Lyft timing

We have a 6 pm flight out of MCO on a Thursday. Mears is scheduling a pick up time of 2:10 pm. What time would be suggested to find an Uber/Lyft? I was thinking more like 3 pm? (TSA precheck)

Never used Lyft before...

3pm should work. I usually plan to get to MCO two hours before (even with precheck) because it can be such a nuthouse sometimes (especially when checking bags). For a 6pm flight that means leaving getting there at 4pm, so catching a rideshare at 3pm would give you a comfortable cushion to get to MCO by 3.

To me it would depend on how well you know your carrier. If you are flying say Delta and checking a bag I'd be ready for a line. I don't know if I've ever seen that desk slow.

That is a toughie. The one trip I used Uber/Lyft, the ride back to the airport was stressful. The traffic was horrible, and our driver seemed very determined to get us to the airport. He went very fast, and was cutting lanes so much I finally pulled out a book so I could ignore it. I think I would rather have more time waiting at the airport than being stressed about getting there on time.

Checked bags with DL multiple times at MCO inside, even though it's busy it's not like Southwest level. Never felt I needed more than 2 hours to complete everything.

3pm

I'm TSA-Pre, I like plenty of time at the airport to grab water, snacks & relax a bit in a lounge if I have access before my flight. Leaving Disney by rideshare 3 hours ahead of time has always been enough. I would only hesitate that's not enough time if I was flying Southwest and checking bags (seen crazy stories about that being miserable, so I would ask here on DIS for current experiences) or if it was a Holiday.

I've only flown Delta for work - never for vacation - so didn't know that was an option. good to know, thank you
It's nice. Only issue is it tends not to be open super early at most airports...I usually have to take my bags inside when I fly down from my home airport. But when OP is flying out it will be fine though. I find it extra helpful at MCO because few people seem to know about or take advantage of it.

I had thought about recommending same, but I was actually worried about it not being open that late. Many of those services shut down prior to 4pm. For future reference at MCO it's open at least as early as 4am. I have a colleague that uses it every time we fly from MCO, usually four or five times a year.

Yes, if you were using Magical Express.

The very best thing I learned last trip, was do curbside with Southwest. We walked inside to an absolute madhouse. So glad we saw the attendants outside!

I have done this several times! Walked inside to an absolute nuthouse of a line, walked right back out and got in the curbside line instead. Sometimes there are lines there too, but not as bad as inside . . .
