I'll be staying solo at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in Sept but am considering spending one of those nights over at RPR at Universal. I'll have a rental car, but really don't want to drive way over there and back (I have a very poor sense of direction and hate the traffic on I4). I also have an old transportation voucher that I bought from Mears from a previous trip that I never used. I was just wondering if it was still good and if so, would it be possible to use Mears to get over to Universal very early, walk over to RPR, check in, and make it to early opening, then spend the night at RPR and not use the return part of the voucher until the next evening? I know luggage would not be allowed on the Mears van, but I could easily put enough stuff for an overnight stay in just a back pack or tote bag. or would it be better to just suck it up and drive myself over there?

I think you would have to call Mears and ask them. No way for any of us to really tell you if it is still valid. Mears number can be found by doing a search on the net.
Universal is really only a couple of exits east of Disney. Like you, I have a poor sense of direction (every trip out of my driveway is an adventure) and I abhor I-4, but, I do manage to find my way. You could do a mapquest before you leave home to map out a route from one resort to the other and if you select avoid highways, you might be able to do some back roads to get there.

i'm not up on the mears policy of using their tickets that were purchased in the past.

like the other poster stated, call mears to find out if that ticket is still valid.

i can tell you that the mears transportation system from the motherland to the darkside does not have to be a round trip on the same day.

you can use the transportation they provide on one day, stay over night at the darkside and return the next day, or day after.

you already know you can't take luggage on that shuttle bus but you can take a back pack for your things you will need at the other hotel.

i believe you can make the arrangements in advance for the return to the motherland area with mears.
i have read some posts that they were told to call so many hours in advance for their return portion.

do check with mears about the previous ticket you bought.

it would be great if they are non expiring and you can use it.

everyone loves a deal!
why buy the RT ticket again since you already have one.
but check with mears first.

and, good luck!

I had purchased a RT from BCV to Sea World one year. DH got really sick so we took a cab back to the resort. I had two vouchers with the remaining return trip on them. I did call Mears and they honored them the next year. The driver did have to call "control central" to verify that they would take them. I also took the name of the person who approved them (for what that's worth).

I would give them a call just for peace of mind.

Call Mears directly and ask if the vouchers would still be usable.
I have done the exact same thing you want to do. I have left WDW, with a backpack for my overnight stuff, and gone to RPR for the night. It was no problem at all. We just called Mears the next day, told them when we would be ready to head back to WDW and they gave us our pickup time.
Really easy to do.

Thanks! I'll have to give them a call. Even if the old vouchers can't be used, a new one would just be $19.00 r/t (same price as parking the rental car for the night would be over at Universal:rotfl:) and I wouldn't have to make the drive over there.

I was going to mention that..forgot to. And I'm not sure if you would have to pay to park for two days or just the one night. Better not to have to worry about it.

For the hotels you pay at midnight. So the op could go in the morning one day, check in and be parked all that day, over night, and all the next. As long as the op was out of the lot before the second midnight it's just the one charge.

Op it's all so well signed that you don't need a sense of direction for driving. It's probably better to not figure out direction on that part of 4 since that part makes no sense, direction-wise. Just follow the signs to universal.

But if you have free transport, then that's good too!
