Mears question...

Hi!
I'll leave in just 8 days!!!
My last trip was 9 years ago so I'm VERY EXCITED!!!

I'll need a transportation from Pop Century to Universal and I was thinking about Mears. Since my spoken English at phone isn't very good, I can reserve my Mears transportation from WDW to Universal asking someone at the hotel to help me, but I don't know how to do this for my returning.
Last time, I told to the driver at which time I had to catch the shuttle back to the hotel, but it was well BEFORE the parking closing time!
This time I'd like to go to Universal City Walk after a day at US and/or IoA so I don't know at which time I'll be ready to come back to the hotel.
Now my questions:
- does the Mears' Shuttles are always available (like in a taxi stand) or I HAVE to call them to reserve my pickup?
- there is any time limit after which the Mears Shuttles stop traveling in the night?
- in alternative, there is any taxi stand at Universal City Walk where I can pick up a taxi with no troubles at all?
- how much is the taxi fee from Universal to Pop Century at night?
- what about the tips? In Italy there is no need to leave a tip to the driver, but I'm not sure if this is the case in USA.

Yes, I think I can
Before you get off the Mears bus/shuttle at Universal, the driver will give you some type of 'ticket' to show you're entitled to a return ride. He or she should also tell you to call the number on the ticket two hours before you want to head back to Disney World - you should be able to get help with this from Guest Services in CityWalk - it's between PastaMore and the walkway back to the garage/pickup area.
Mears transportation runs, if I remember correctly, until very late in the evening, probably even until CityWalk closes.
