Hello,
Not sure where to post this. We are a family of four coming from Maine to WDW and staying at Pop Century April 30-May 7, 2005. We are looking to checkin at Pop early Sat 4/30 and then head out to Universal Studios. Probably around 1pm. How do we go about getting a Mears Shuttle to the Park? Is it on a set schedule time wise? I looked at their site online and it does not say anything other than they do take guests from Disney to Universal. I saw on another thread that it is $ 14 per person Round trip? Also we are going to be going to IOA on Sun 5/1 early in am so would need info for that too. Would be great if we could get Mears for both days. Any info you all can give us would be greatly appreciated.......

I'm also wanting to get from Disney to Universal Studios for the day.

I have two son's that want to head over to Island Of Adventures for the day.

They are 18, and 16 years old.

Does anyone know if Mears has a shuttle to Universal? Where it picks up at?
Any ideas will help....
Thanks

The Mears shuttle only picks up at a few times in the morning. I think the latest pickup was 10:25am at Pop.

For a family of four, it might be about the same price to just take a taxi both ways. The folks at Pop Century Luggage Assistance will have a price estimation guide. If I remember correctly, it was around $25 each way plus gratuity. Sedans will work, but vans are available for more room.

I never knew Mears had a shuttle from Disney to Universal. Does it go to all of the resorts? How do you get the schedule?

They go to SeaWorld, Universal, and Kennedy Space Center. The shuttles have 3 or 4 pickup times in the morning, and will only stop at a resort with reservations. They can be made the night before. For the return journey (for SW and USF/IOA, not sure about KSC), call Mears 90 minutes prior to when you wish to leave, and they will schedule you in.

Step 1 - The night before you want to go to Universal, go to any Disney House phone and dial "0". Ask to be connected to Mears.

Step 2 - Tell Mears that you want to go to Universal in the morning and what hotel you are staying at. They will tell you when to be outside your hotel.

Step 3 - The driver will require $14 CASH per person and will take you to Universal/IOA.

Step 4 - When you arrive at Universal, the driver will give you a return ticket with a phone number on it.

Step 5 - 90 minutes to 2 hours before you are ready to go back to your Disney resort, give that phone number a call and schedule your return

Step 6 - Be at the stop where you were dropped off at the return time

If you want to go to Universal for the first two days of your trip, I would recommend getting a one-way rental car from the airport through National or Alamo, then go directly to Universal from the airport. Then after you are through with your day at Universal, drive over to POP and check in, then use the car the next day to go to Universal, then turn it in at the Dolphin on your way to the Disney parks on your third day.

If you don't want to drive at all, then I would recommend doing something at Disney on your arrival day and going to Universal your 2nd and 3rd day.

This can be done from your room phone as well. :)

I called Mears yesterday to get information about the shuttle for our trip next month.

I was told that they pick up a PC at 7:25,8:25,9:25,and 10:25.

I plan to have an early breakfast then hop on the first shuttle. Since there are only two people in my family (13-year-old son and I) the shuttle is the best deal for us.

What I didn't find out is if the bus will leave PC and go straight to US or if we'll stop at other resorts.

I was told that the trip only takes 30-45 minutes.

Whether or not it stops at other resorts is highly dependant on how many people are booked for that day. Some days, vans would show up, other days, motorcoaches would show up.
