Good morning everyone!

I've been up for over an hour and we are getting ready for our 7am yard sale - of course the sun hasn't bothered to come up yet so this is interesting

So while I am waiting for Matt to come back from putting up the signs, let me ask today's topic

Hmm..

okay, how about this

"What do you think is the scariest insect/bug/creepy crawly thing that you call Orkin or someone with a big shoe for?"

I hate misquitos, but centipedes give me the CREEPS!

good luck on your yard sale!! I picked roaches. I have never seen too many, but I think its the idea more than anything...

Definately roaches. I could never live in Florida, the roaches there FLY!

I've not had too bad of a reaction to the cicadas we've had, and they have been plentiful! Has it been the same in Richmond, Lauri? For some reason they haven't bothered me -- I mean, I don't love them or anything (especially when my little one picks them up and wants to give them to me for a "present".....) but I don't really hate them either.

I hate wasps but roaches are really nasty. We also had the type that fly in Houston. Blech!

Ok, I said centipedes, but I want to point out that caterpillers don't bother me at all. In fact, I like them. Centipedes and milipedes just gross me out to no end. I had two bad experiences with them when I lived in the midwest (THANK GOD I don't see them here in the Northwest!!!).

Once, when I was about 14, I was sitting in the basement talking to a love interest. I felt something fuzzy on my foot, I look down and holy cow, it was the biggest centipeded I'd even seen in my life! It crawled OVER my foot and it was a full TWICE as long as my foot was. Ick!

The second bad experience was a couple years later...I took a big ol' drink of cool-aid, and got a mouth full of seriouly upset centipede. I spit it out and about dropped dead from a heart attack. That is NOT a good way to get the days protein! To this day, I never take a drink without first looking inside the cup. This same thing happened to my neighbor...she got BIT by the sucker! Had I got bit, I never would have been right again a day in my life.

So...I do admit, I don't like things with more feet than Payless could provide shoes for.

You didn't put the one insect that really bothers me on your list, though....ants. I really, really hate ants. They annoy me, and they scare me...to a point in which I think I'm phobic. I also dislike spiders, but I'll take them ten to one over ants.

And mosquitto's....those things like my blood. I don't know why. I was outside yesterday with my partner checking the oil in my car. She didn't get bit even once, I got big about six times...in about ten minutes. What is with that? And now that the little suckers carry West Nile Disease....they are about to take number one as my most hated insect.

I might as well just be honest...I hate bugs of all kinds. ::yes::

Bees, wasps -- nasty things with nasty dispositions that sting you when you are not looking!

Wowzers ... I think I just described ME! :earseek:

ML, best of luck with the yard sale. Hope you sell a lot and make BIG BUCKS (so you can buy MORE candy for the movies!! ;)

that says.......ALL OF THE ABOVE.....I hate anything that moves.....flies ....crawls or leaps.......hows them apples.......ROFL

This was a hard one. I don't see any roaches around here, except the madagascar ones in the aquarium at the zoo:crazy2: , but I picked them anyway. Personally flies just completely gross me out. Yuck!

WORMS are the worst!!!!!!!!!! We recently had a centipede somehow end up in our upstairs bathroom, dh wasn't home so I had to deal with it... I don't think they're technically worms, but wormy enough for me YUUUUUUUUUCK!! Here's what it looked like:
Scol2x6.jpg

ticks:( more from the lyme disease than the actual bugs,, have friend who was a very well respected local contractor 6 yrs ago got bit by tick while hunting,, hes now basically house bound, cant drive cant dress himself etc,, lost every thing and then some,,, from one tick bite:(

Can I just state ALL bugs are nasty...

I HATE!!! all bugs, but mostly bees any bee because I am allergic ::yes::

Ok, I know they are not insects, but I am TERRIFIED of frogs! I can't handle even hearing them croak! Long story!

I would take a bug any day over a frog! In fact, in our house I have to kill the bugs because DH freaks out when he sees one!

I hate ALL bugs, but went with spiders. They freak me out. Roaches are a close second.

I had to vote for roaches. I see you have...I love all bugs...Lauri. I need...I hate all bugs! :faint: Good luck with your garage sale!!! :teeth:

I have to say the mosquitos I see here are dive bombers! :scared1: We didn't have any this huge in FL!

But I have to vote for ticks also!! The other night, a tick bit me TWICE! How the heck did the thing get inside my clothes to bite my stomach? :earseek: So far so good I think. Have been feeling a little yucky on and off since then, but I don't see the infamous ring. :earseek: :earseek: :scared1: :scared1: I'm keeping an eye on the area.

Froggy...I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and his tick bite! :( I have two friends with Lyme. One isn't too bad, the other lives on antibiotics...constantly! She lives in CT and is dying to move to FL. Her youngest son is the only one in the family without it. Her oldest son has even landed in the hospital with brain swelling because of it! :(

Roaches!!! They creep me out to no end. I've had too many nasty encounters that no matter how long I live here I won't ever get used to them.

Bees, etc. But only because I’m allergic to them. Running almost side-by-side to spiders in the house!:earseek:
