Myself, wife and 3 year old are making our first trip to Disney as a family. We have the DDX dining plan. I have scheduled a character breakfast every morning(5). Is that to many? Will that be taking too much time away from the parks?

That's something that is entirely up to you. Many touring experts say the morning is the best time to get to popular attractions (especially at Magic Kingdom), so if you want to do those, you may want to cut down on the breakfasts a bit if you've got one booked every morning, and try some character lunches or dinners if you are planning these meals as your main method of seeing characters. I suppose if the breakfast is early enough and inside the park you might be done in time to make the rope drop, which it's said is the best time to get to rides that might be crowded within a couple of hours of opening. If you're going at a busy time of year, that makes it more important to hit the park early.

We have found that the character meals can provide a nice break from the parks. It's inside and you are seated! All our kids did great with multiple character meals. Enjoy your trip!
