Meal? Which restaurant?

I'm almost at my "two months out" booking window for restaurants so I need opinions (going mid May). We only have one day at the parks (hopper passes), we've got teens so we've already decided to skip the parades and characters to save on time. Is there a meal place (without characters/entertainment) that's worth taking the time to eat at if you only had one day? I want a place that I can't find at WDW and that doesn't take up too much of our day (hours are really short mid-May). Also, at WDW we usually eat out large meal as a very late lunch (2-4 reservation)...is that possible at DLP? Thanks!

I'd go for Walts if I were you - look here
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1218009
and at that time ask to be seated by the window to Main St - you might see some of the parade.
Alternatively I don't know if the Blue Lagoon is at WDW? The restaurant next to the POTC ride. If it's not you might like to try that instead.

I too would go for either Walts as there is no equivalent restaurant at WDW or DLR. Or the Blue Lagoon (which is like the the Blue Bayou at DLR) which is located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

I would recomend Walts, my favourite Disney restaurant:)

Great- So Walt's sounds really nice (my son is turns 18 this week so it looks like a good place to celebrate a birthday), but I looked at the other reviews and it looks like this will take at more than 2 hours, especially for a party of 6 (hard to give up that much time when we only have one day there)? Hmmm...I'm not sure what time the park will be closing May 19th, but if it's at 8pm, can I book Walt's at 8pm (park close)? Will we miss the fireworks (guessing you can't see these from here since people said you can't see the castle) & Candleabration (haven't had time yet to research what this is even so I don't know what we'll be missing)? Or can we go right after the fireworks? And is there an evening parade? Will they be rushing us out since they want to close (has anyone had experience with this)? Will the RER train still be running back to Paris when we get done even 2 hours later? Thanks again all!

I don't think it would take as long as that unless you really like to take your time over courses.

Very unlikely. We were there 3 weeks ago and the last booking they took was at 3.30! It is likely to be later in May but probably not much later than 7 o'clock if the Park closes at 8.

There are no fireworks at DLRP for most of the year - only during high summer and other special days and I don't think those are in May (apart from possibly Mayday itself)

And is there an evening parade?

Again only in high summer and during the Christmas season.

If you don't have that much time, why don't you eat dinner in Village when the parks are closed??? There are some nice places there as well!

I think I'd be inclined to either eat later in the Village, just grab a snack during the day or try to coincide a meal at Walt's with watching the parade. :)

I have looked at the menu for WALTS and was wondering do they do plain food some of my party don't like much flavouring but it looks like a nice restaurant we wouldn't mind trying
