Hi. I've been reading about these vouchers and I am very interested in using them for our next trips. I have a couple of questions for those of you who have used them.

1. Which ones to purchase that can be used for both lunch or dinner?

2. Where to buy them w/out having to join a savings club, but still at a good price?

3. Will these be issued again with a later expiration date?

4. If purchasing on ebay or disboards, how to tell if it is a good price and a valid voucher?

Thanks. I was thinking that once I have paid for our lodging and tickets, I would start buying these to pre-pay some meals and hopefully save a litlle money. Oh, we will be 2 adults and 2 dd's (5 & 7), plus my inlaws, hopefully:teeth:

The ones for lunch or dinner are the "Quick and Casual Lunch or Dinner Vouchers. I might be a little off, but these sell for around $11.50 from Hotwire or Connections.

In some cases, you can save significantly off the cost of an entree, side, drink, dessert, and tax. However, this isn't always the case.

As far as getting these outside of a membership program, you can find these being sold on e-bay with a markup. I think I've seen them for about $14.00. At $14.00, these only seem to be worthwhile for Beaches and Cream or Pepper's Marketplace.

If you want the benefit of the lower price, Hotwire offers your first month's membership free. You can sign up and buy up to 40 vouchers. Then, to avoid the ongoing expense of a Hotwire membership ($8.00 month ??) cancel when you get the vouchers in the mail - about 7-10 days.

Hope this helps!

the expiration was about a year( may of o5 for now) so don't start buying yet! I went through hotwire with the free month no problem customer service was very nice. I am actually going to pay(!) to join it again this trip to get the ones I want.

we found the best money off for the q/c was at resorts with food courts or casual food places like pop and cor. springs in our case, the least savings were at counter stands in the parks except for a few like tangerine cafe. we always saved a few $$ & up to $10.well worth the effort imo. the vkl were better yet, usually 1/4- over double their savings. only one we would not use again was breakfast...not worth it unless you go to a character breakfast since breakfast buffets are to much to eat for me and if I really want a buffet I can go to trail's end and get a nice enough one for $10 ( or whispering canyon ayce skillet for the same price)

jann1033 - what is the difference between the quick & casual and the vac kingdom vouchers?

Jumping in here...

The Q&C are good for an entrée, sidedish (if not included with the entrée), dessert and a beverage at participating restaurants. The participating restaurants are mainly food courts and counterservice restaurants. The vouchers can be used during lunch or dinner hours without restriction.

The VKLs are good for an appetizer, entrée, dessert and beverage at participating sitdown restaurants during lunch hours only (the exception being the AK RFC where the lunch and dinner menus are identical and VKLs are permitted during dinner).

The Q&C vouchers are $11.50 each on HWSC and the VKLs are $12.75 per child and $31.00 per adult. Both include taxes and tips.

It can be hard to get $31 worth of lunch. Check out menus at www.allearsnet.com. i.e. if you eat all Scifi and get a salad as your appitizer ($5), the turkey sandwich ($12) and cheesecake ($5), plus a $2 coke - you'll have spent $24. Add tip and tax, and you'd have to be a really good tipper to get your money out of the voucher.

Likewise, while the $11.50 price on a voucher makes the Q&Cs easier to break even on, check the menus. Take the ever popular Peco's Bills. If you just have a burger ($5.69, includes fries) and a pop ($2), you won't break even. Add a dessert (chocolate cream pie, $3.50), and you still aren't breaking even. But you are entitled to more fries (2.50) which will get the voucher paid for. Now, order the chicken wrap for $7.40 (very good, btw, one of my favorite counter service meals and it also includes fries) a big pop (an extra $.50) and you are that much closer to breaking even before the pie and a side of chili. (chili, $3.00) (total bill, $16 before tax which is included on the voucher and enough food to feed two).
