Has anyone purchased any type of meal vouchers from Ebay? Would you recommend this as an option to saving money on meals.

We will be in a 1 BR at SSR with 2 teens who would much rather eat out instead of returning to SSR to eat lunch/dinner.

Any information would be helpfull.

Thanks

Don

the meal vouchers are great, you just need to know where to really get your moneys worth out of them, we use 2 vouchers for the 4 of us at beaches and cream , 2 drinks$1.99 each, 2 primerib sandwiches $10.99 each, 2 fries(come with the sandwich) or onion rings $3.29, 2 sundaes $8.99 each.
plus tax and tip. for $11.99 each voucher.

the sundaes are hugh and with dh and i just finish one after we split the meal.

no i would not buy them from ebay, you pay way to much for the vouchers.

hotwire.com offers them and lillian vernen , their is a membership fee. the first month is free, you order them and then cancel the membership.

the waterparks at disney has a good deal. buy a drink mug for $17 and get free drinks all day and a free meal.

bring the mug back any waterpark disney mug for $11 get free drinks all day and a meal.

if you want more info where to get your moneys worth out of the vouchers just post.

another tip, when you eat at the disney restaraunts like yacthman steak house, split a dinner, order a salad, steak dinner and dessert, you it will be plenty of food for both of you, but there are restaruants like calf. grill that you dont even get enough food for 1 person, so just do your homework.

I have bought tickets from Ebay at about $15 a ticket. These tickets only pay at the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs or Beaches and Cream at the Y&BC. At the Pepper Market you can get a nice Steak and veggies and at B&C you can get the Rib sandwich and a great dessert. Using the tickets in the parks doesn't seem to pay.

I just called Lillian Vernon about the vouchers and they said they don't carry them. And I checked online and there are none listed there either. If anyone has gotten them from Lillian Vernon, how did you do it?

You actually had to join Connections through Lillian Vernon and you got the vouchers through them. I had such a problem cancelling both times I joined (one time I gave up and stayed with it all year). I see nothing wrong with getting them on Ebay as long as you don't overpay for them. Keep in mind as the above post stated you will only save a few dollars (unless you go to one of a few select spots) so if you overpay by more than that you basically have just pre-paid some meals.

I joined Hotwire Savings Club (free 30 day trial, cancel anytime) to get the vouchers.
I paid $11.50 for the Quick & Casual and around $18.00 for the breakfast adult voucher.
We were thrilled to use these vouchers - we saved more than $35 with the breakfast vouchers at Cinderella's Royal Table. And then we used the Quick & Casual Vouchers at Tangerine Cafe, Yakitori House and ABC Commissary. At the Tangerine Cafe, we each got almost $20 in food with the voucher, same at Yakitori House. We got about $15-17 at ABC Commissary.
Ebay would be an okay place to get them - but you'll probably pay more there than elsewhere.
I had absolutely no problem cancelling w/ Hotwire, plus I got the $10 rebate for my first order.
I do know that Vouchers aren't for everyone - and there's no way that we could use one for every meal. At most, we would use one each day. We also ended up saving some of our desserts and parts of meals in our backpack cooler, for later eating.

I was just watching the vouchers on ebay and 10 just went for $182.50 - that's crazy! Someone is overpaying just to have the vouchers. I'm considering trying Hotwire - how long ago did you cancel? I'm just leary about giving my credit card number. I had a bad experience with another company where I cancelled but still kept getting billed every month.

Another thing is that they charged me for the next year's membership without asking! That time I called 2 X's and when I got someone who spoke better English I was able to cancel.

I cancelled Hotwire last month and didn't have a charge for last month as well as this month. I've been watching my Amex account very closely, just in case.
I've read horror stories about cancelling too.....so I tried to be as careful as possible and have made sure to write down everything possible, in case there are problems.
Good Luck!

Its also a good idea to use a credit card when you sign up and NOT a check/debit card. I have read that it is much easier to dispute the charges on the credit card.

Although, I had no problems cancelling Connections. Although I did stay a member for one year - my choice because of the gift cards. But when I called to cancel it was no problem. The CM did try to talk me out of it, but when I said definitely I wanted to cancel she took care of it.

We had no problem cancelling Connections. We bought meal tickets and park tickets through them. I kept the account for a few months thinking we would use the gift cards and the movie pass offers but we never did. When I cancelled, I called and then I also sent them an email. I did not have any problem with them. We did not find that the meal tickets were a good deal though. It was too much food for us and we could not share easily because my husband is a picky eater.
