I bought meal vouchers on Ebay(yes, I got caught up in the hype about meal vouchers!) With shipping I paid $17.10 for each one. I've been watching Ebay and people are paying $21.00 for these!! My question is, these vouchers expire in Oct '05. Has anyone seen these? That doesn't matter because we are going in Aug but I guess I didn't look real close at the description because it seems the list of restaurants are not the same as the meal vouchers that expire in Dec '05. Beaches N Cream is not listed. They are a yellow color and i think they say somethin like Youth/Market Lunch Voucher?? The seller said She ordered off the Adult menu with them. Has anyone seen these before??? I hope I didn't make a big mistake.!! :confused3

I don't know what you got - I have never seen those before. If they say lunch, they are probably only good during lunch hours.

Disney has vouchers that groups buy so they can give the people attending the outing a meal. You really have to read the voucher carefully. I think some of them only include the counter service places that are in the theme parks.

The only place you have a shot of getting $17 worth of food is at Beaches or Pepper Market and even then it's close.

Real example--Pecos Bill:
Bacon cheesburger with fries 7.29
drink 1.99
dessert 1.99
total 11.27

All of the ebay sellers use Beaches and Pepper Market for their examples and it's questionable if you'll be allowed to have a shake or smoothie as your beverage.

You'll actually maximize the value of your voucher if you resell it on ebay.

You also can do OK at the resorts..although to get my money's worth, I would buy stuff I normally wouldn't..so am I really getting my money's worth? You can get about $20 worth of food at All Stars if you buy a single pizza with lots of toppings, a bottled orange juice, cheese and fruit container, and a pie ala mode (with ice cream put in it's own container to stop melting while eating). Normally, I wouldn't get dessert, or the orange juice, but that's the only way to make them "worth" it. I was always very much for the vouchers at $11.50..and still think it's worth the newer price at Beaches and Cream, and Pepper Market, but seldom thing they are worth it at the parks.
We found we didn't pack on so many pounds on the last trip when we didn't use the vouchers..and ordered just what we wanted.
However, if you are looking to prepay, or have a way to send teens off on their own with "food" in their pocket, these would prob still work for you.

At $11.50 you were at least breaking even in the theme parks. It was a way to pre-pay and get some savings.

I wondered where the "value" is if guests are picking restaurants based on the maximizing he dollar amount of their order. Are you really getting value if you take a bus from MK to have lunch in the Pepper Market and then take a bus back to the MK? Makes sense if you wanted to eat there in the first place. Are you really getting value if you wind up gaining weight because you want to maximize the value of your voucher?

Read your voucher carefully, some of them are only good in the theme parks and are a horrible value.
