What is the meal tax at Disney?

Trying to guestimate the $$ for our upcoming visit.

It's 6.5% almost everywhere.

Almost all of Disney is in Orange County, where the meal tax is 6.5%. Part of Disney (Pop ????) is in a different county and there the tax is 7%.

However, all parks and all resorts right next to parks should be 6.5%

IF you have more than 8 people they add the 18% automatically, so don't pay twice.
Actually my family and brothers family are going together and we'll get hit with the 18% (actually I normally tip 20% and above) BUT any hoo, we'll just split that 18...9% each (and EXTRA for really good service)...that is just too crazy and FREE DINING TOO,

If we're talking about gratuity/tip - then Gratuity is 18% of the total (pre-tax) food bill for parties of 6 or more as of 1/1/2008. It's also an auto gratuity of 18% for all those using the DDE (Disney Dining Experience) card as of 1/1/2008.

I believe that OP was asking about meal (sales) tax, and the sales tax on meals is 6.5%.

However, now that I've mentioned the DDE Discount card, it's only fair to mention that sales tax is added on the POST discount amount.
