Hi everyone
I have read on a few threads of people eating at Disney restaurants and sharing a meal, is that considered an OK thing to do? Will they give you an extra plate too? One of my kids isn't very adventurous food-wise and would be quite happy to share with his sister, or me, so then he could try some new tastes.

What about having a starter and dessert, but no entree?

Thanks for helping out a Brit:rolleyes: :bounce:

We always share meals. Usually our family of three (two adults and a 16 year old) get two entrees and an appetizer. I (the mom) eat the appetizer and then graze off my husband and son's plates, using my appetizer plate. That way, you don't have to request a seperate plate to "share" with.

On occasion, I have simply ordered a drink and eaten off their plates with a fork. Or I wait for my son to get full, and then steal his plate and finish it.

I know places will sometimes charge you extra for bringing you an extra plate to share, so we never do that. I just don't want to argue. But entrees have just gotten so large, we got tired of wasting food. We figure, if you're still hungry because the entrees turned out to be small, you can always have dessert!

Sure that's fine. There is no rule that you must order an entree. We regularly split meals, and restaurants readily provide extra plates. My in-laws always split, and Disney will be no exception. I've never encountered being charged extra for splitting.

That's wonderful, thanks for answering sooooo fast;)
It's frowned upon over here, meal-sharing that is, but it sounds the perfect solution to me, I agree with you Musicfan some entrees are too big, and it's such a waste

Thanks again:bounce:

Splitting - do it all the time, never had any problem or any extra charge getting an extra plate (exception of course, would be the buffets).

And I order an appetiser and dessert with no entree all the time. Who needs all those extra nutritious calories in the middle?

We asked our 'aunt' at the Prime Time Cafe (MGM) if we could do this. She told us 'it's Disney World. You can do anything you want! They split the meal onto two plates for DM and I. FOr a lighter (and cheaper) lunch, it was great. Course we had to share a desert too!

Many of the places will divide it in the kitchen. Others will simply bring you an extra plate. A lot of the times that they split it for you, I think that they're pretty generous with the sides. There's never a charge for sharing.

Don't worry about splitting entrees or even not ordering an entree. You'll find that you servers are willing to go along with whatever you want to do.
