We were just making our ADRs for character meals for our Oct 20 - 24 trip and the CM was trying to sell us on getting DDP. We haven't decided whether to to DDP this time or not, but I wanted to see if the prices for the meals she was quoting us were accurate.

Example: 1900 Park Fare - Dinner - she quoted at $34.99 per adult and $17.99 per child, when currently I believe it is $28.99 and $13.99.

Has Disney announced a meal price increase for sometime this year?!?!
:confused3

To decide on DDP or not I need to know where to get the most accurate prices for our planned meals?!?!

Thanks for your help!

If you are on the DDP you get 1 ts (such as a character meal), 1 counter service and 1 snack per day. We think it's a great buy - although not as good as last year when the tip and appetizer were included!

Your ts meal will allow you one buffet or sit down dinner (beverage, entree and dessert).

Thanks for responding!

We did DDP last year and enjoyed it....this year we only have Character meals (mostly breakfasts) planned for our TS meals and we are pretty light eaters throughout the day (especially after a Disney buffet breakfast!!!).

I think the DDP is great if you like to have a TS meal for dinner each night....really saves you a bundle....just not sure this year. If prices currently quoted (on this site) are accurate for the character buffets, the DDP costs us about 10% more. If what the CM stated on the phone is true and the Character buffets are going up by $4-$7 a pop, then DDP saves us about 10-15%....

Thanks!:thumbsup2

If you're going at a time Disney has "holiday surcharges", then what the CM quoted you was correct. We ate at Chef Mickey's when we were there over spring break/Easter week and the cost was $33.99/per person (adult). I would check to see if your trip time is considered "holiday" pricing or not. Some have said on here that some of the summer months apply this surcharge, even though it's not actually a holiday (with the exception of 4th of July) :confused3.

Thanks for the heads up on the premium pricing. We are going October 20 thru October 24....I'll check to see if she was quoting holiday pricing...

Thank You!

There is no holiday pricing for October, so it should be the regular price. I'd call back and ask about it......be sure she wasn't looking at the holiday price even though you aren't going for holiday. Holiday pricing is about $4 per adult meal higher at these places:

1900 Park Fare
Akershus
Biergarten
Boma
Cape May Cafe
Chef Mickey's
Cinderella's Royal Table
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
Hollywood and Vine
Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
Ohana
Trails End
Tusker House

For what it's worth....there is holiday pricing in affect NOVEMBER 22-29.....I wonder if she was looking at the wrong month for pricing (which would make me worry about whether she booked you in October or November!).

I'd call back and ask about it......be sure she wasn't looking at the holiday price.

Entirely possible. The seasonal pricing is in effect now so the Cast Member could have very well just been quoting from the current price and not the one for October.
