meal plan

hi everyone,

we seem to have had an issue with our planner and the meal plan.

Did anyone use the meal plan during their wedding/honeymoon?

You can't take advantage of the free Disney Dining Plan if you are also using the room block discount provided for Wishes events - is that the trouble you're having? If so, you would have to re-book your stay at full rack rates to take advantage of the free dining offer.

Alternatively you should be able to add the Dining Plan to your discounted reservation if you pay for the plan.

I am just looking to buy like I would normally would, not sure why it seems to be a big deal to them.

That shouldn't even be a discussion you have with your planner I don't think. You would make those arrangements with your resort, if I'm not mistaken.

Can you buy the dining plan if you have an annual pass (as provided for the bride and groom) or would you need to buy separate park tickets?

A travel agent told us we could only buy the plan if we booked the accommodation and tickets for every day of our stay through Disney and I just wanted to check whether that is correct!

As far as I know, from listening to my DH, Dining Plans can only be added on before you arrive if you book your resort directly with Disney. I think you can purchase while you're there if you booked with an agent...but I'm not sure...and I could be completely wrong about having to book with them.

you can do dining if you have an ap you just have to book your ressie there the AP ressie number or website...

The plan can be booked with a package, or if you have an AP, or if your a dvc member (can not add it to a room only package). It needs to be booked at least 48 hour in advance, and you will not be able to add it when you arrive, so you will have to plan it out a bit.

the way it was explained to me...the dining plan is like a special room rate that you can book and is therefore part of the ressie. So if you are using the special DFTW room rate it can not have the dining plan added to it, only if you are booking at regular rates. Hope this helps

Thanks for the responses. I think, considering how much DF eats, the dining plan might be a good option for us!
