We have a meal plan as part of our trip and we haven't made any reservations at any restraunts. I was told that if you don't make reservations you will wait for about 2 hours before you can eat. Is this true?? :confused3 Please help. I don't have much time before my trip

Its not a bad idea to have reservations ahead of time, but we were there last week and I walked up at the 50's Primetime Cafe at MGM and made a reservation for lunch with no problem. If there are any places you know you want to eat, you should make reservations when you get there. Just press the Dinning button on your room phone. Have a great trip!

I would make what ever PS I could, they can always be changed or cancelled when you get there...but there are many restaurants that it is now difficult to get PS due to the meal plan.

we have had great success calling a restaurant from our resort in the morning before we head out to the parks... there are certain meals that won't be do-able (i.e. crt) but most restaurants should be able to accommodate you, although you may have to be flexible with time and meal (i.e. you may want cp for breakfast but are offered a lunch ps)...

you can also call from within a park during the day to see what availability is... so if at 2pm you are thinking you will end up near a certain restaurant in a few hours, go to a gift shop, ask a cm for a phone (they will either let you use theirs or direct you to one) and call the restaurant you are thinking you'd like...

another rule of thumb is that tables are easier to come by in the resorts than in the park... and rather than wait 2 hours for a table at a park restaurant, you could travel to/from a resort restaurant in less time and have an enjoyable meal (from mk i'd suggest whispering canyon at WL or 'ohana at the polynesian; from epcot i'd suggest any of the restaurants at the swan/dolphin; etc...) just be sure to CALL FIRST!

good luck and enjoy!

I would definitely make the PS, especially if there is a particular restaurant you want to eat in. I just feel better knowing we have a "plan" when we get there. Plus, you can always change/cancel them if you change your mind.

We leave in six weeks and are doing the dining plan. We have all our PS's for our sit downs; even snagged breakfast with Cinderella (better be worth all the hassle too!!)

I would suggest that if their is a particular restaurant you want to eat in you make PS before you leave home. Some restaurants I have not been able to make a PS even in a slow season. So now when we go to Disney I make PS for the restaurants that i "have" to go to. For others I will make a PS :bounce: when I'm at my hotel. :wizard: :Pinkbounc :rolleyes1
