We just got back from a 5 night stay at the Carribean with our three boys, 9, 4, and 2. Although the meal plan was a good deal (we did get alotof food for the money) it did not mix well with kids. It seems like all we did the whole time we were there was eat. Our typical day was like this: up and get everyone dressed and fed, get to parks around 9 or 10. Stop and have lunch with a counter meal around 12. Head back to hotel around 1 or 2 for a nap. Back to the parks around 5 or 6, Dinner around 7 or 7:30. No table meal the whole week was under a hour and a half. By then time to get the little ones back to the hotel for bed.

We couldn't even eat the snacks everyday there was so much food. I ended up taking most of my snack credits the last day and stocking up on pop, chips, and rice krispie mickey treats for the trip home.

Also, found a lot of inconsistencys with the plan. When the waiter rings you up, the number of meals removed from your plan is based solely on the guest count that the waiter enters into the computer. Example: On the first day there I bought two bags of chips for my two boys. Should be two snacks. The counter person put in a guest count of one, so only one snack was removed from the plan. Next to last day, at the whispering Canyons, the waiter put in the guest count as 5, even though we only ordered four meals (the two little ones shared). 5 table meals were removed from the plan, and we ended up paying for a meal at the end because we did not catch it. And the waiters don't neccessarily know how it works, because when I questioned a snack error on their part at Dino Bites in AK, I was told that both a popcorn and a pop count as one snack (which is untrue!) :mickeybar

The most imporatant tip I can give would be to watch your credits, especially if you are sharing meals and have a different number of people than you are using plans. It prints out right on your receipt.

Oh, and I swear I gained 20 pounds!!!!

Sorry to hear about your problems with the dining...I hope it didn't cause too much trouble. How did you like CBR?

The CBR was great! My oldest loved the hammocks, he wanted to hang out there every day while the other two napped. They originally wanted to put us in Barbados, but I requested Jamaica and they were able to get us in there.(Thanks to everyone who recommended it!) I really don't have any complaints about it at all, and would stay there again in a heart beat!!!!

Hi,
We are from the UK, we also purchased the dinning plan for 14 nights, we throughly enjoyed the experience and we got our monies's worth, we left behind 15 snack coupons, but still saved $200 at least!

Just hoping that DVC will let us have it next year!!!!!!!
